I called this place multiple times in the time span of a month to make an appointment. I left voicemails, filled out information on the website and everything… no response. I called one last time and they answered. I made an appointment about one week out from my trip to Belleville. I talked to the owner and he asked for my artwork. I Even went out of my way to photoshop the design on a picture of my own finger. I gave him the picture of what I wanted. I also explained there were two of us. He asked where I lived. I explained I was out of state. He said that would be fine but then asked if we were college girls. Very confused as to why that was asked or necessary information, I told him no. He said it would be ok still. Never asked for a deposit, but gave me a price when I asked.
We showed up about 15 minutes early. We were greeted and I explained we had a 4pm tattoo appointment. All of the sudden the person who I assume was the owner (same voice from the phone call) had no idea what I was talking about. He didn’t know there were two of us so two appointments. He didn’t know what time it currently was or what my artwork was or where it was going. I refreshed his memory. He then stated that he “thought” he could make our appointment still work even though he didn’t plan for it. He didn’t ask the artist working if that was ok he just said they’d “figure it out” and that he didn’t expect us to show up. I said I was shocked. He then told me to not be shocked. He then asked why I was shocked. I explained that I made an appointment and I expected him to be ready for us. He explained that because we were foreigners (his words) that we wouldn’t show up. So because us being “foreigners” he just did not even scheduled our appointments at all. He then asked me if this was my first tattoo. I explained it wasn’t. He then said he would take our ID to start paperwork. I looked at my friend and she stated how uncomfortable she was with the situation and the treatment of his customers. So we agreed to go somewhere else.
VERY thankful that I didn’t give him a deposit and we were able to walk out. Would not reccommend if you care about good customer service. ——
Also I just read his reply…. I came from Indiana. I have never been to Minnesota. Also…. From other reviews it looks like he needs a calendar and an appointment book. Glad he has shown his true colors to others…..so...
Read moreWhere do I begin with how terrible my experience was?! Yesterday I called about a nose piercing and was told that I could walk in the next day as they would be open late. I confirmed with the owner more than once as I would be driving from 30 minutes away (I was willing to make the trip because of the affordable pricing and seemingly good reviews — clearly I should’ve checked the one-star ratings). When I arrived, the owner said that he would be closing early because he had a party to go to (keep in mind that I arrived one hour before closing).
I told him that the call from the day before was misleading because he confirmed that I could walk-in. That is when he became SO nasty and unthinkably rude. He said that he speaks to so many customers that he didn’t remember the call. He said that he didn’t want to give me a piercing because he was all alone, didn’t know who I was, and that I could hurt him. HUH? Who says that to a customer?! I’ve never in my life heard a business person say that. Yes, a young woman is going to hurt that old creep.. Right -__- btw, professional places take down your license, so I don’t know why he’d even say he didn’t know who I was. When I said that he was rude and I wouldn’t be getting a piercing with him, he started cursing me out (dropping eff bombs and telling me to leave). That was genuinely the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life. Run away from this place! Oh and btw he kept addressing me as “lady” and “kid” — that in and of itself is unacceptable in a professional environment. I hope this place shuts down. Gross. I already know he’s going to say the craziest stuff in response to this, so please make sure to read his insanely unhinged and repulsive comments and run away.
Thankfully, I just got my nose pierced by a normal, service-oriented piercer who values his customers and doesn’t treat them like garbage. Shoutout to Ernest from Hudson Tattoo. Go...
Read morei had heard great things about this place and after reading all the reviews on here, i decided to give it a shot. i was originally between this place and one other tattoo parlor - but since the other place didn't have all the materials i needed for my tattoo (both uv and white ink), i knew that this would be the place that i was going to come to. still, i was nervous, as i wasn't exactly entirely sure what script i was going to get, only what i envisioned in my mind. not only did the tattoo artist take his time looking through pretty much EVERY SINGLE FONT they had in the computer with me (i'm a very meticulous and picky person especially when it comes to tattoos), but they welcomed me and never once did i feel judged or like they were trying to rush me into picking exactly what the specific design would be at all. all the workers there were so friendly, amicable, and it really shows that they take pride in and love their work. rock was willing to work with me in regards to the price, and sasquatch did a beautiful job with my drake script and owl tattoo. after taking a look at where drake has his owl tattoo placed on his back (i've been a huge fan of his from the beginning and i've considered the tattoo for two and a half years), he even helped me out the exact location where drake had his so i could put mine in the same spot, which was what i requested. they took their time with everything, were truly understanding, and had great senses of humor. i would easily recommend rock city tattoo to any of my friends and i couldn't be any happier or more excited at all with how the tattoo came out. i can't wait to show everyone i know. don't waste any more time - rock city will treat you the way you would hope a tattoo parlor would and will take their time helping you out with everything from start to...
