Went on Saturday night to see a packed rock show. The casino was also quite busy. The tour had an opening band scheduled with them, so we decided to get there at 8:30 instead of 8pm... To our dismay, there was no opener so we missed a bunch of songs. Now that I'm reading through reviews, it's most likely due to the venue having to close by 10pm...which is absolutely ridiculous, but ok.
The venue has ushers to take you to your seats. Seats were pretty good, decently comfortable and what is to be expected. The sound quality was also good, large screens on both sides in case you're short and can't see above people standing. There's no slope in the flooring so if you're behind a tall person, you're screwed.
The venue does not have a bar inside so you have to leave and miss the show for a drink. Ok, that's fine. You're only allowed to buy one drink per person so if you go with a group you all have to leave the venue to get drinks.
The large bar (that makes drinks for casino patrons) only had one girl tending it. The poor thing looked as if she were about to give birth so she was very, very slow. There was a smaller satellite bar right outside of the venue with 2 people working it, but it closes early so you have no choice but to go to the big bar. I don't understand the point of this bar at all if it closes well before the show ends. You'd think that at least 1 of the 2 people just standing behind this closed bar would go over to help the one girl, but no. They let her drown.
On a busy Saturday night there was only one bartender with zero hustle available. There were over 20 people waiting and we watched people walking away in frustration not wanting to miss any more of the show. We also ended up not getting any drinks because we would have missed a good 30 minutes of the show just waiting. Good for us as we ended up not spending money.
I don't know that I would come here to go to a show again if this is the level of service you get on a busy...
Read moreWent 2 Xcite Ctr 4 the 1st time & saw Travis Tritt in concert. Casino parking was relatively close. U go thru security screening at the Casino entrance & proceed to the Xcite Ctr around 2 the right. Service bars next 2 the ticketers 4 refreshments. Seating wasn't really tight & I was Lucky 2 actually have an available seat (I guess they heard they'd have 2 b next 2 Me!) Acoustics were very good, with 3-4 camera oper8rs & large screens on either side of the stage. The concert started early with the War Hippies starting out. A Marine & an Army Vet who I'd say r impressively 9n the rise! new music for me, along with a moving rendition of National Anthem played by the fiddler. Check These 2 Guys Out! Then Travis and his band played many favs (including our Wedding song that was 1 of the only times we didn't waltz 2 this time bc we were in the middle & couldn't get 2 the isle). He also did some tributes 2 others, including Waylon. Apparently there's a rule all Parx concerts must b over by 10pm, so they played up 2 the last minute. Easy exit onto Street Rd & to the Hiway :-). Home b4 11pm. I'd go 2 another...
Read moreI had a completely ignorant African American lady usher commit a felony against me and defamation of character. I vaporizer a life saving tincture I can die without. I can legally use this everywhere. I can even use and have used it in court serving Jury duty. I can legally make an arrest if you interfere with me taking my life saving Asthma tincture. I was forced to use my medication due to the bass player of the band smoking nasty chemical sprayed cigarettes. I am very allergic to that and can't smoke or be around it. The ignorant usher claimed I was smoking when I have a clear vapor device. Only a worker that should find another job could mix the two up. The lady even came back around and harassed me more. I was forced to crouch down to take my life saving Asthma medication the rest of the show. I would usually just inform the ignorant individual what it is but there was a live show i had waited 28 years to see. The show was great but parks casino will probably be hearing from me...
