Lucien’s made our dream wedding come true! Through the whole process, Jake (General Manager) and Cristina (Event specialist) met with us and answered numerous emails as we tried to put together our vision. To be honest, I know I wasn’t the easiest person to work with as i had many questions and high expectations. Nevertheless, they were always 100% attentive, patient, and extremely helpful. Our biggest worry when booking a wedding venue was the quality of food and having the sufficient staff to properly accommodate 400+ guests. Jake and Cristina went above and beyond in their service and attention to detail and reassured me our vision would become a reality - from that moment on I trusted them.
The Lucien’s team worked with us to have alternate stations at cocktail hour that were not on the original menu. Especially, the Lamb Osso Buco with Orzo, it was unmatched! The food quality and taste went above and beyond everyone’s expectations for an event venue accommodating 400+ guests (South Philly Italians) and not one compliant. I received an overwhelming amount of compliments on how great the food was, especially the filet mignon - as it was hot and cooked to perfection. All the credit goes to Lucian's! The chef, cooking staff, wait staff, and bartenders were amazing. The Lucian's teams were operating at 100% efficiency and effectiveness.
Everyone loved the offerings at cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert. We had numerous guests tell us the night was fantastic and it’s all due to the Lucien’s team bringing our vision to life.
Ashley (our maître d') was running the floor like none other, keeping everything on schedule and providing great service to all of our guests.
John (our bridal attendant) had a sixth sense on when to be present - when my drink was low, he was there with a fresh one. When we wanted certain hors d'oeuvres, rather than waiting for them to be served, he went and made us our own tray. The best part, as the bride and groom, was when we had to be somewhere, like getting ready for entrances or the cake cutting, he would give us a 15 minute heads up so we could finish whatever we were doing and not feel like we had to drop everything that second and go. When I thought of something I needed, he was there and delivered.
Matt (the banquet manager), was present and was the man behind the scenes making sure the Venetian ballroom, the La Grande ballroom, and Dessert room were all set up perfectly, providing us with an excellent banquet experience.
The entire staff at Lucien’s were helpful, kind, and on-point the entire night. Thank you again Lucian’s for our absolutely beautiful wedding reception. We will definitely be back to Lucien’s...

Just save your time and energy and drive down the Merion. This is from a family that has had 3 traditional weddings and 4 weddings in the area. The "UNION staff" gets a 5 star. the lady who hosted us was amazing. HOWEVER, the owner called my brother and told him he should have shut our wedding down. Our guest had a good time because they thankfully didn't see the attitude of the manger. I am convinced he was hired to be disrespectful.
If you plan to have your reception there, DO NOT go on a Friday. the traffic is hellish getting there and you will miss between 30 to 40 minutes of your wedding reception time that you paid for.
From someome who has had family members get married in both places, I offer these points: If you want to take your food (as long as you have a vendor with a license) Merion is where you need to go. The decor is even much nicer (I had my traditional wedding there, my sister and brother got married there) If you want to feel like the money you paid for your wedding? i'll suggest to call the Merion, I am so grateful for their customer service AFTER dealing with lucien's. these people are all about their money. If you want to feel like you got married in a market place (there was another event going on there and it was super confusing at time to get to the second floor because another wedding was on the first floor and our guest kept running into each other) Go to the Merion, it is more spacious and you wont even know another event was taking place. To the cultural bride, if you care about your dance into the hall, the manager of the day being respectful and understanding, go to the Merion. You can thank me later. I come back to customer service, my goodness that manager was RUDE. i mean the type of rudeness that you should never experience for something you do once in a lifetime.
If you plan for NOTHING to go wrong and you will not need customer service from a manager who understands and willing to help, then Lucien's Manor is for you. The owners will love you too. They are all about their money. And for your future wedding, I hope you spend...
Read moreTo the Team at Lucien’s Manor,
I want to take a moment to thank you for being such an important part of a special day for my family and me. My wedding day was one of the most special moments of my life, and your team played a significant role in making it memorable.
Cristina, let me just say — you are amazing! You stepped in and helped like you had been part of this journey from the very beginning. You answered every call, every email, and always made time to accommodate me and my children. Including my children in every meeting meant more to me than you’ll ever know — they are my world, and the way you made them feel involved and important is something I’ll never forget. Your patience, your warmth, and the genuine effort you gave behind the scenes made such a difference. It never felt like you were just doing a job — it showed that you truly cared.
Matt — the Booker family LOVES you! From the moment we met you at rehearsal, your presence was calming and pure. Honestly, if someone hadn’t told me you were the boss, I would’ve never guessed it, because you were right there with us, hands-on and humble. The day of my wedding was chaotic, especially with the transportation issues we experienced — but you were there, working hard to keep everything on track and make sure I still had a magical day. Right before I walked down the aisle, you smiled at me and said, “Whenever you’re ready, your song is on,” and you held out your hand. That moment — that calm reassurance — meant everything. I was overwhelmed with emotion, thinking about everything that had gone wrong earlier in the day, but your words helped me center myself and walk forward into one of the most important moments of my life.
To the entire Lucien’s Manor staff — thank you. From beginning to end, you treated us with care, respect, and genuine hospitality. Thank you for this experience.
