DeBardeleben Park — Attraction in Bessemer

Peaceful and clean. My family and I had lunch there at the picnic tables. They were all clean and had nice paint. Trash cans had been emptied. It was very nice. We did interrupt some bees, but we invaded their territory. There were a group of teens there doing their homework, and laughing, being normal teenagers. Which made my heart happy, that they were happy, felt safe and enjoying life. The "bandstand", was clean and you can tell that it is regularly maintenanced. An amazingly nice park for this area. Just goes to show you what a community can do when people come together and work to turn a neighborhood in decline into an outstanding revival of the past. Too bad the authorities in this city are as crooked as any police department and judge could be. I realize the business for most cities is fines for traffic tickets.
