I bet a lot locals don’t even know this place.
The Spadena House, affectionately known as “The Witch’s House,” is a whimsical architectural gem nestled in the heart of Beverly Hills.
Originally built in 1921 as a studio office and dressing room for Willat Studios in Culver City, it was relocated to its current location in 1926, where it was transformed into a private residence. Its storybook design, complete with intentionally uneven gables, tiny windows, and a charmingly dilapidated facade, makes it a standout attraction amidst the opulence of Beverly Hills.
Visitors often find themselves enchanted by the house’s fairy-tale appearance. The exterior features a whimsical garden with a quaint bridge and a pond, enhancing its storybook charm. While the Spadena House remains a private residence and is not open for interior tours, the exterior alone offers ample opportunities for photography and admiration. Many appreciate the owner’s efforts in maintaining the property’s unique aesthetic, often decorating it seasonally, which adds to its allure.
For those interested in unique architecture and a touch of whimsy, the Spadena House is a must-see landmark. Its proximity to other Beverly Hills attractions makes it a convenient and delightful addition to any sightseeing...

While it wasn’t necessarily a movie set backdrop, it was meant to be part of the studio’s environment, capturing the fairytale aesthetic they wanted to evoke. The current owner is a kind and gregarious real estate agent. Easy free parking. The tours pass here frequently but you will be able to take pictures...
