Legion Field — Attraction in Birmingham

Its an older stadium, needs some renovations. Small stadium so it makes it easy to find your way around. Concession stands and bathrooms are close to the tunnel ways easy to find. Not much variety in vendors. They do not have a dedicated fan store but they will have tents made up for fan apparel. The big screen is in a good spot where everyone can enjoy. I was on row 10 lower level, when the plays were at the middle to the other end of the field, it was hard to see the plays over the fence and players. I would recommend the mid rows, 12 and up. When they have events I have noticed their parking system is smooth in getting people in and out, but like most locations its still a struggle with parking. If your looking to do pre or post game activities there is nothing around the proximity of the location. Your best bet would be to head on downtown on 20th or 5 points south. I went to Legion Field for the Funk Fest. I took my daughters with me (our first time going). We were so excited!! We came early and had to wait in line for a very long time (expected that). When we finally got in, we wasn't showed where to go. There were no signs for general admission, but we did know we were not to go on the field (that was for VIP). We were able seat down in the bleachers. We were already high up and then had to move. We had to move 3 times. Need better directions for ppl who are new comers to shows(and no, my family was not the only ones who had to keep moving). The entertainment was great(especially Joe and BABYFACE)!! They had problems with the microphone for Ceelo (Goodie Mob)and Erykah Badu took too long to come out (I love them both). Some food were expensive, but good. The parking was easy to get in and out. This is an older stadium close to Birmingham Southern. Recommendations I can give when attending events are arriving to your event early to obtain good parking and taking a portable stadium cushioned seater to provide some comfort, a clear clutch bag or purse to carry cash, ID, etc., and drinking water to outdoor events at times when the weather is hot. If you want to protect yourself from the sun, wearing a big floppy sunhat will be a great accessory to have as well as a pair of sunglasses.
