The Palace — Restaurant in Birmingham

My wife and I have had never visited this restaurant, so we decided we give it a try. my wife wasn’t really hungry so she ordered a couple of eggrolls while I ordered the sizzling rice dish with shrimp instead of chicken and a couple of shrimp spring rolls to share.

The shrimp spring rolls were excellent, The eggrolls were good, but not outstanding. We’ve had better at another Chinese restaurant in Trussville. This sizzling rice dish was interesting. The server brings the ingredients to your table along with a preheated metal dish in a wooden base very similar to vessels used to serve sizzling fajitas in a Mexican restaurant. The heated dish already has crispy rice in it. The server then pours the ingredients into the heated dish and it all sizzles loudly on contact.

There are a lot ingredients other than the crispy rice such as mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, peas etc., etc. in a sauce of some kind. A couple scopes of white rice are served on the side that you can add in if you wish. It was okay, but I found it a tasted a bit bland. The serving was generous and I brought some home. It tasted better when I added a bit of onion and garlic powder and nature Zone seasoning.

I had a bad experience at the Palace on tonight 10/31/2016. Me and a cousin went to the Palace to celebrate my son getting married,as I entered the club I go to the bar my cousin and I get a beer and sit at the bar for an approximately 4mins.I decided I wanted to smoke so I suggest we go to the patio and smoke.We get to the patio an seat in back by the bar after about 5mins 4 security guards walk up to me and tell me I have to leave.I ask them why do I have to leave he tells me I just have to go. And 4security guards escorted me out the door I continue to ask for a manager he a sure me that I will speak to him when I'm outside so I said fine. When I get outside he told me he was the manager. I ask him why was I put out he couldn't tell me anything. Later a value customer saw what was going on and informed me that the guy who say he was the manager wasn't the manager at all,he also informed me that a waitress said me and her had altercation. I said that's not true he said I know he also said that the waitress went and made that story up just because she doesn't like me. I was not refunded my money for going in, nor what I spent on my beer. Very very...
