Aquariums By JJ — Attraction in Bloomingdale

I took a long drive for another visit to this shop looking for some plecos and a few other aquarium items. The first time I stopped here I was pleasantly surprised with the health of the fish and the store in general. They were in the midst of expanding their shop two doors down, so things were understandably a little chaotic. Unfortunately this time I was kind of shocked by the conditions the fish were in. Lacking color, signs of bacterial/fungal issues—which shied me away from making any fish purchases. I saw some bettas that were in a cup on the counter and took a peek— ugh. Looking terrible and sad— one was kept in a small bowl, no heater or filtration. Very disappointing. Then I ventured to the new ‘reptile store’ they have opened. Lots of good supplies but sorry looking animals for sale. Staff wasn’t the friendliest, at least the guy behind the counter. He seemed miffed to stop what he was working on to help. Back in August 2019 I purchased some zebra Danios. Unlike other pet stores the fish made it home alive and thrived despite my lack of experience. Anytime I have bought fish elsewhere Petco, Petsmart, there is always a certain amount that do not make it into the tank (belly up in the bag on the way home!). Aquariums by JJ is just as far from me or further than these other stores. I also purchased plants which are still doing well from this store. Though I knew little about the Nitrogen cycle back when I first bought the fish, the owner prevented me from making a huge mistake of purchasing greater quantities of fish thus my first fish were able to weather the cycle and...

I Bought a top for fish tank was billed 118 $ Twice I called to complain . the sales person Eric acted like an emotional female who whined to the owner jj I called to many times he sided with Eric and barred me from the store. All I did was go in and spend money. They charged me twice and Eric got upset and thought I called him a thief The quality of the Water maybe average.
