Reviewing two things here: pickleball courts (opened in summer '22) and the softball fields. (I know there are also football / soccer fields, batting cages and a nearby mini-golf too.)
There are six dedicated pickleball courts - two sets of three courts - side by side (no fencing between the three adjacent courts). The tall pines that surround the outside fence add a nice natural wind and low sun barrier. Lights can be turned on with the press of a button for post-sunset play. 💡👍 Neighboring tennis courts (four or five of them) also were just resurfaced in 2022.
The softball fields have always been very well maintained and have been a staple venue for local rec and competitive leagues...
1 problem: At least 3 baseball fields and many softball fields a batting cage (only goes up to 80). Really nice tennis/paddle ball court, soccer field/ football field, little park for the kids, 3 volley ball areas and open space to walk and play with dogs plus a basketball court. The only problem is the basketball court looks terrible compared to everything else and they can't get a single light focused on the volleyball and basketball court at night. They make new walkways and basketball hoops, but can't even spray new lines so you can effectively see the lines with no slip resistant ground. Read moreThere are some really great batting cages here but the best feature of you are looking for entertainment is an amazing mini golf course. It's one of the best courses in the twin cities and it has a ton of unique hole configurations. My favorite part is that it has a lot of water traps running through it and there are many opportunities to accidentally hit your ball into a shallow river or pond. It is set up so you can easily retrieve your ball if you do and it adds a fun dynamic of you want to play with an added penalty for hitting a ball...
