WHY VISIT? In short, it’s a fun and spectacular way to view Hoover Dam. After many decades with the same available vantage points, this bridge came along and provided a new, bird’s eye view. It’s a free attraction! The bridge itself is an engineering marvel and it’s thrilling to walk nearly 900 feet above the Colorado River. Solid infrastructure setup. With plenty of parking and accessible paths, the designers have made it easy to get on and off this bridge. Vault toilets are available, as well. From the pedestrian entry point to the end of the bridge, there are pictures, displays, and information about the structure and its construction. No reservations required nor is it a big time investment. Easy visit.
CAUTIONS: The sidewalk across the bridge is only on one side. Though it completely crosses the bridge, it does dead-end with nowhere to go. The sidewalk across the bridge is narrow and can get very crowded. I did notice that most visitors only go about one-third of the way onto the bridge and then turn around. Those that walk to the middle and beyond will experience nearly no crowd at all. While the setup is designed to accommodate those with mobility issues, I think there could be concerns. On foot, there are either a lot of stairs to climb or a lengthy switchback sidewalk. For those on scooters, it’s all good until up to the beginning of the bridge–there is a lot to see. However, because the sidewalk on the bridge itself is narrow and often crowded, I don’t see how a scooter could navigate. I could barely get through on foot. I recommend researching to find out when crowds are very light.
OVERALL, this is a spectacture, free, attraction and is definitely worth stopping if...
Read moreThis Memorial Bridge, is nothing short of spectacular. This bridge not only serves as a critical connection between Arizona and Nevada but also as a stunning tribute to the legacy of Pat Tillman, a true American hero.
The structure itself is an architectural marvel, with its sleek design and impressive height offering an incredible vantage point over the Hoover Dam and the Colorado River. Whether you’re crossing it by car or stopping at one of the scenic viewpoints, the views are absolutely breathtaking.
What stands out most about the bridge, however, is the deep sense of respect it carries. Pat Tillman’s story—his decision to leave a professional football career to serve his country—is etched into the very fabric of the bridge. The plaques and information provided at the viewing areas give visitors a chance to reflect on his courage and selflessness, making the experience far more meaningful than just a bridge crossing.
It’s also worth noting how well-maintained the bridge and surrounding area are. There are plenty of spots to stop, take photos, and simply absorb the grandeur of both the bridge and the surrounding natural beauty. The location is easy to access, and there’s ample parking nearby, making it an excellent stop for anyone traveling through the area.
Overall, the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is much more than just a functional structure—it’s a moving tribute to an inspiring individual, set against a stunning backdrop. It’s an experience worth taking the time to appreciate, and one that leaves a...
Read moreGreat tour at the Dam... nice walk and views from all areas... visited from Kelowna BC 🇨🇦 🍁 Canada, such a nice day and so exciting to see this monumental piece of history , and was so happy to be witness to it all.. Up until the young man about 23yrs who was with girlfriend, who decided to spit off the bridge a few times to impress his giggly girlfriend who seemed rather amused by it all ... who showed their respect this way 😤 . How gross and nasty to see anyone behaving this RUDE obnoxious way. No manners.. same as the people who just litter all over , knowing there's garbage cans all over the place, yet still decide the ground is a better option. These are piece of art and history and it's maddening how little respect Humans have for the earth.
Loved the Dam and do the tour down below! 5stars for the Dam.....
