Absolutely blown away by this amazing museum, words cannot describe the the treasures here. From the very first Shelby Cobra to Shelby Cobra Mustang #1, many many of the Ford GTs from Mk1 through the modern era, this is a must see for any auto and racing buff. The tour guide had extensive knowledge on the history of each individual car and many great stories from the Shelby racing era of the '60s and onward. The staff is very friendly and has a ton of knowledge. The museum continues to grow and they even have an event space for private parties, plug they have an annual party with many local folks bringing their treasures to show (this year-2024— it is on 8/31l! I of course also had to enter the fundraiser raffle for the 1 of 1 2022 Shelby Heritage Edition GT500...fingers crossed!

This museum is insane. It’s a fairly small museum - everything fits into one large “room.” However, the collection is shockingly amazing. I’ve never seen so many Shelby Cobras and and GT40s in my life. I think we counted nine GT40s, including some really important, historical race cars like Ken Miles’s GT40 (featured in the “Ford vs Ferrari” movie). The most is ever seen in one place prior to this - including at the Henry Ford Museum - was one. If you’re into race history, cars, Ford, or just gorgeous machinery, I’d highly recommend this museum. For $5 per person, it’s an amazing deal.

I truly enjoyed my visit. The cars can stand in their own but the friendliness and knowledge of the owner and staff really round out a great experience. I really appreciated the time Steve took with me to explain the significance of many of the cars on hand that day. The importance of what the cars here accomplished in racing is difficult to overstate. Having the chance to admire and take in the genuine articles was like being at an art display of original works by someone who knew the artist. Keep up the great work! I look forward to visiting again.

Looks like I gave it five stars 5 years ago. Update++ We went for the 25 anniversary party and it ROCKED! Ken Miles son was there and we got a picture with him.We had a great time seeing the huge collection of Shelby's and Shelby Cobra's inside. It was such a site to see all the personal Shelby Cobras for the car show outside the museum. What an amazing collection all together in one place. It's a small museum with a nice size collection of gorgeous machinery. This is one of Colorado's best little secrets.

If you have ever asked yourself, hey that Ford vs Ferrari movie, I wonder where are those LeMans winning GT Shelby cars? Ask no longer, most of them and other GT test cars are in the Shelby American Collection in Boulder, CO. Along with original GT cars, there are new models, early Shelby Mustangs, and Shelby AC models. The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable, and they will tell you everything you wanted to know about the cars, their history, and the history of Mr. Shelby. Must See!!!

Amazing place for anyone to visit, especially for car enthusiasts. There are so many historically significant Shelbys and GT40s in this building, it’s unbelievable. Staffs working here are friendly, knowledgeable, and they love to strike up a conversation with you. You don’t have to be a certain type of car enthusiast to appreciate this place. None of my family members are car enthusiast, but they enjoy the place and spent hours reading and checking out the cars.
