Never went here. No affiliation or anything. However, I do know that A bunch of students from here are often employed at nearby restaurants throughout the area.
About 3 weeks ago , me and my boyfriend had an issue with a few employees (possible college students) at a local restaurant. I left a complaint, they took down my name + address, and told me to expect a refund in the mail. I left a review with that particular restaurant and that was that. I assumed that everything about that was settled until today. Out of the blue.. today; Saturday march 25, I get a knock on my door. 2 white students (1 male 1 female) claiming to be Olivet Nazarene students who said that they are handing out "free cookies" to Bradley residents.
(I've been a Bradley resident for 5 years, nothing like this ever)
...The male was holding a Target store bag with what appeared to be one small item inside; the girl holding nothing. I didn't accept the free cookies and they said "Okay" and walked away. While they were leaving, they didn't go to any of the other houses on my street. It was a bit odd considering how small the bag was; claiming to be passing them out to Bradley resident(S)... I contacted this University by phone just to confirm this and they pretty much said that they don't know anything about any students out doing that and couldn't confirm that any of their students were out & about passing out "free cookies."
Okay no problem...
About 45 mins later, another knock on the door. This time the boy wasn't present just the same girl with another girl holding what looked like the same Target store bag with an item in it. This time I didn't answer because i noticed the same girl from before and I had already declined earlier. They eventually walked away and again didn't go to any other house on my street as they faded away.
....I called the university back to report this or speak to an administrator, director, or someone in charge to let them know what's going on and got no one but receptionists for taking messages.
Today is Saturday I get it but please no more "Free cookies" or whatever! It's weird..
To sum it all up I dislike how the receptionists or whatever they were, handled my calls. I also dislike how they have limited information on what students are out doing on the behalf of...
Read moreHad an absolutely abysmal experience here as a student back in 2008/2009. Phew. I don’t even know what to say. Bizarre place to say the least. Fell down a manhole, got stalked by a mentally ill fellow student, had a RD that didn’t want to take me to the hospital when I was having a health emergency and then reluctantly dumped me off at the hospital and made me find my own way back to campus later via public transit (which was just awful considering it’s a small area). I could go on. Not to mention all the weird dating/marriage culture there… bullying… RA’s playing favorites and having insane double standards and rules depending on who you were. Food was awful and they would make it noticeably better only when tours or alumni were around. This place claimed to be Christian but was depressing, insanely controlling, and absolutely and totally hypocritical. I came from a fairly strict Christian family but when I came here I felt like I had less freedom than at home and was treated like a child not an adult. Favoritism was absolutely rampant. My boyfriend and I once got creepily followed by a host of RA’s while out for a walk and they were so obvious. So many kids got married quick and are already divorced. Some got pregnant freshman year. Crazy stuff happening there that is for sure. Chapel services were horrible and depressing. I came out feeling guilty and rotten every time I attended. I am a devout Christian but this “Christianity” they were peddling was completely toxic. Also, this place is very expensive and absolutely not worth it! It is only a good place for people who are brainwashed into...
Read moreThis review is not from a parent, student or faculty member. This review is from a delivery driver who delivers to your campus frequently at night. This review is focused on the lack of security and safety the college provides for it's students.
Consider me a fly on the wall or in the ointment. Your call.
Your students are....well, I'll put it this way. Not thinking WWJD.
Way too many male students sneaking into the female dorms. It's so obvious!!! I know it's college but your faculty preaches different.
I notice security driving around, taking the same route over and over again. Your students do circles around your security btw.
Why does Parrot and Chatman always smell like 420 after midnight?
In Sept 2024 there were empty alcohol cans near the Power Plant entrance.
Your security gaurd likes to take naps in his car on the olde oak dorm premises.
Don't get me started on the off campus dorms.
Why in the heck are the dorms not secured after lights out?????? Yes, your doors are supposed to be locked but your students keep them propped open for other students to come and go from other dorms.
Bottom line is this. There is probably a 89% chance I could drive up, park my car, walk up to a dorm late at night, walk in the main entrance, open the lobby door that's kept propped open, walk through the building, mingle with students, and see their dorm room.... Notice anything wrong with that?
Parents, think long and hard before sending your pride...
