The antiques here are beautiful and the store itself is beautiful. However, the items here are incredibly overpriced. Most items are priced dozens of dollars above their actual value, there are several items priced at hundreds of dollars above their actual value, and there is even one particular item, an antique armoire, priced at 30,000 dollars. Though I am not an expert at appraising antique armoires, I think this price is exorbitant. To further illustrate how overpriced these items are, let me give specific examples: the several roseville pottery pieces they have are dozens of dollars above their actual prices online, the several hull pottery pieces they have are dozens of dollars above their actual prices online, the several occupied japan figurines are dozens of dollars above their actual prices online, etc. These are just a few examples of how overpriced these items are. I don't understand how this store can continue operating; the items are way more expensive here than they are online.
I suppose, however, that it is a good way to pass the time as there are lots of beautiful items, and, who knows, perhaps after sifting through dozens of overpriced items, one may finally find a bargain. That said, if one does intend to find a bargain here, one should come armed with extensive knowledge of what one is looking for and its actual worth online. Practically, in order to find a bargain here, one should be a...
Read moreI shopped at this place years ago. It’s a huge store with a big variety of things. It looked clean and well taken care of. I spent $1000+ on about 30 items. Everything was great until the cashier started peeling off their store labels on the boxes violently and he damaged a lot of the boxes. Watching huge pieces of the original packaging got peeled off was very painful for me. One minute ago they were nice and as soon as I paid for them they are getting damaged in front of my face. I asked him to stop but he said he has to remove the labels from them or I cannot take them home. I was so confused. I understand that you have your unique SKU or other inventory keeping information on the stickers but why is that a problem to just keep them on the boxes? Nobody can do anything harmful to your business with just your SKU label. I asked to peel them off by myself and he just looked annoyed and told me it's gonna take too long if I don't wanna damage the boxes. I think most antique collectors want to keep the paper packaging nice since it's part of the display. It's been years since I shopped here but every time I look at my collection I still think of how disrespectful these people were. I might just sell all of them since they bring such bad...
