I would give a negative star rating if possible. After using Rubino's as my go to for everything Italian for about 20 years I am sad to say I will no longer shop there. I called and wanted a 1/2 pan of lasagna and was told it was not available as it is special order. I understood. The girl said "what I could do is give you four pieces, which is equivalent to a 1/2 tray" I agreed and placed the order. When I checked the cost of the lasagna was 50% higher than a 1/2 tray. When I inquired I was told well you pay by the pound. No matter what I asked the young girl just continually repeated herself telling me lasagna is sold by the pound and besides it is cooked. I thought I have to heat my oven anyway so being pre cooked is not a big deal. Still 50% higher in price? So rather than argue with the young girl as they had customers waiting. I left. I called to speak to a manager who attempted to give me an education on the definition of equivalent. He stated that the tray lasagna is not as thick and it is cooked. He then proceeded to give me his explanation of equivalent to which he does not know that meaning. I was patient. I said had I been told I can purchase the pieces at a $ per pound I wouldn't feel so cheated. I then let him know I would never return solely based on how I was treated and talked down to. Their customer service is don't care if you return. Not going back as they have many competitors...

These guys are the kings! You would think that a small mom and pop outfit like this would end up being more expensive for buying your deli meats. That way of thinking is most certainly wrong! At worst, they're the same price every day as sale prices at Jewel, Meijer & the usual lot. You won't believe the amount of Italian imported goodies this store is loaded with! More cheeses than you can shake a stick at... Or in these guys's case, shake a pepperoni stick at - which they have more than you've probably ever seen in one place as well.

You absolutely must try their sandwiches! They are busy as hell at lunch time, so make sure it's on the day where you're not going to get pinched for taking too much time! All kidding aside, you name the sandwich they make, I guarantee you the average score on the sandwich is going to be eight or nine out of 10! They use the finest meats they've been doing in a long time and they don't rip you off. What more could you want from a place!? I will give them my business for as long as they are around; no joke! They are good people in pillars of my Tinley Park community! It sure is an honor that they've been in our town for 30 years! Here's to another...

Ordered this weekend 2 lasagna dinners. One Italian sausage and one spinach. What I was given was 2 pieces of single pan filling - price by the weight (which I specified I didn’t want twice). Needless to say what I got was the heaviest piece was cheese and on the label I was charged over $10 for sausage - one slice of cheese lasagna. I know the owners probably wouldn’t care if I called them so I’m not going to call and complain but I figured I’d put a review out there so other people could understand, see how they’re handling their customers in business and be careful and check all of your labels and pricing before you leave the store. Also because my husband is lactose intolerant we get him the sausage or the meat one so there’s less cheese. This thing was filled with all cheese and I’m sure the cheese lasagna is cheaper than the meat lasagna - $10 for a piece of lasagna I don’t think so . Maybe they can have their bouncer that they have shaking down customers when the open the door take care of this for them. Shame on you Ribino’s - it’s been over 15 year I’ve been going here -not anymore. Your prices way too high and customer...

With a client's recommendation, I went to Rubino's to purchase a few sandwiches to bring home to my family. The Rubino Italian sub with extra meat was nicely sized with various imported cold cuts. The breaded steak sandwich came along with tub of extra red sauce. One of the daily specials was the Italian sausage sandwich which was about 12" long for only $5 and some change. Their deli had a nice assortment of salads to choose from. The shelves were fully stocked with many imported goods. I picked up several large containers of caraway seeds and dill weed for only $3.99 each. Service at the deli and register was prompt and friendly. I told them it was my first time there and they said, "We will see you back soon!" As I looked back at the line in the checkout, about 3 different people all said, "You will! We all got hooked and love this place." Wow! What a testimonial.

It's a neighborhood Italian deli and grocery store where we get all our fave Italian goods and grab a custom made deli sandwich for lunch or a quick dinner. Some of my faves are their spinach lasagna, minestrone soup, chicken noodle soup, Italian sausage, and cannolis. All their items are homemade. I also like getting a 10in turkey, ham & Swiss sub. It's build your own for $9.99 and it's so much better and fresher than Subway! Rubinos is pricey and sometimes you do have to wait in line a for long time at deli-meat counter to get your stuff but it is worth it. One downside is they started charging a fee for using a credit or debit card tho instead of cash. So bring cash if you want to avoid the fee. You can't get out of there without spending at least $100 it seems so be prepared...

I visited 8/20/23. There was a sign on the door regarding the fee for credit card use but there was an ATM inside. As my bank waives all fees I wasn't worried. I shopped then discovered the ATM was disabled. I asked if they'd waive my fee due to this but the man stated it was above his pay grade to make that decision. I was forced to pay the $2.32. Additionally, 6 days later my fresh bread had grown mold. I live a distance these days and I was excited to return here. I used to come here a couple times a month when I lived in Midlothian. I'll make sure if I return I will bring cash and avoid the bread. More likely, I'll just shop in the city.
