Finally, a Mexican place which satisfies my craving for good tacos! I ordered my food to go, so I can't comment on the service, other than I was warmly and enthusiastically greeted upon entry, and my preferences taken into consideration. I ordered the steak (asada), steak (ribeye) and, of course, the pastor (pork) tacos. I judge all new Mexican restaurants by their steak and marinated pork tacos. I order tacos one way: Onion, cilantro, cheese, on corn tortillas. These tacos were loaded with finely-diced onions, fresh cilantro leaves, and cheese which melted perfectly. The steak tacos contained ample, flavorful meat. I'm a steak taco connoisseur, and I'm pleased to report that these are the finest steak tacos in the area. I also ordered elotes. I am generally disappointed by elotes in restaurants because it's never close to what the elotes guy selling from the sidewalk makes. This was very close! It's possible that cotija cheese was used because it actually melted, unlike Kraft, and when I said I wanted it spicy, she showed me the amount she put on and asked if I wanted more. They pay great attention to customer preferences. However, the pastor taco was even better! I know, how can pork be better than steak, right?! The meat was marinated beautifully, with a strong pineapple flavor, and without any residual bitterness or astringency. Not only are these the best pastor tacos I've had, they are the best tacos I've had, period. The red and green sauces are fantastic. There is no astringency to either of them, and the red comes very close to the sauce La Fajitas had before they were taxed out of Illinois. Backstory: I pay close attention to new Mexican restaurants which open in the area because La Fajitas, which previously occupied this location, was my favorite restaurant throughout its existence. Everything I ordered from there was perfection. The owner and I would chat about the goings on in the area, national politics, the importance of charcoal grilling peppers for the red salsa, whatever crossed our minds. Other Mexican restaurants have moved into this location, and none of them came even close. I've tried just about every Mexican restaurant in the South and Southwest Suburbs. Mely's is currently the best Mexican Restaurant in the area.

We haven't been disappointed yet after going multiple times. We finally had to leave a review. We've had their beef, chicken, and steak tacos, the tosadas, horchata, chips, and salsa, Everything was really good. But the Steak Burrito Suiza was absolutely amazing!!! Voted by all of us. The salsa is hit or miss spicy hot, and it is not the thick, chunky kind but is still quite tasty. It is relatively small inside with nine booths, no tables, and if there's a lot of to go orders, the line is down the ce nter between the booths while you eat. But the food is really good, even to go. We've eaten in and have had it to go. Gricelda has got it all covered, too; as she has the job of hostess, waitress, bus person, to go orders and all!!! And does it spectacularly. Last note: Pay cash for your orders and pay less than credit/debt card orders.

Service was excellent, the waitress was happy and definitely loves her job , first start with the chips and salsa complementary if u dine in. A lot of big crunchy solid chips that hold the salsa and pico de gallo, as for the salsas all were great. We also got a very small bowl some soup witch was amazing as well, I ordered a gordeta which are hand made and took a little bit but definitely worth the 10 min wait I did also order a single steak taco, the I gotta say the food was fast so waiting wasn’t and issue, steak and all fixings were fresh, and delicious. The fd got 2 steak taco dinner with side of rice, rice was also great. And it was very responsibly priced. Def a Diamond in the ruff, we definitely found our new taco spot !

As a long time patron of Melys, today was my last day. I’ve been visiting this restaurant for a few years faithfully, twice a week sometimes. Today I picked up my order and when I got home, I realized the cook gave me flour shells although I ordered corn. I had to drive back to the restaurant, the cashier told me I could keep the incorrect meal and give it to someone but then the cook wanted the incorrect meal so he could “check it” to make sure it was actually inaccurate. I gave the cashier the food back and a few moments later, requested a full refund. I do not want to spend another dime in this establishment because I had no reason to lie about something as simple as a shell and I also frequent this business often so that rubbed me the wrong way. This is not the first time my order has been incorrect but this is one of the few times I spoke up about it. I’ve even given one of the ladies that works there the bracelet off of my wrist because she liked it. I will find another Mexican restaurant to order from or I’ll cook at home. 0/10 I do...

My husband and I stopped here after a trip for a quick dinner. The server was very friendly, apologizing for a table not being cleared yet (not our table, just a large party had just left). She brought out chips and salsa right away. Chips seemed bagged but the salsa was good. My husband ordered a steak burrito dinner. I ordered a bean burrito and was very clear - beans, tomato, lettuce, cheese and jalepeno only. The server did keep asking, "No sour cream?" but no. When the food was brought out, there were two steak burritos. I don't eat steak, so we sent it back. She apologized and had it remade. My husband ate his while waiting so it didn't get cold and said it was good. She brought the new burrito out and this time it had no beans, just rice, tomato, lettuce and very cold cheese. I was not going to send it back again so didn't eat much of it (I don't like rice!). We also ordered pico de gallo, which was delicious. I would...
