I've been in Tinley Park for 3 years, and I'm not a skinny minny by any means. I like food and my fiance' and I have tried a ton of places over the past 3 years. Chinese is one of my favorites and Bamboo garden has been the best chinese food in this area in all of these 3 years.
If you've never been there, I highly suggest you go. It's tucked away next to a laundry mat right at 167th and Oak Park Ave. It's a small mom & pop type place and the 2 women that man the front have always been nice, courteous and just as sweet as can be. If you want something cozy, familiar and warm then this is a great place for a nice date or family meal.
The food is always great here, not overly greasy olr over cooked, it comes just right. I am a huge fan of the house fried rice and the sweet & sour chicken. My fiancé loves the General Tso's as well as the beef/shrimp/tofu fried rice. But this is not all they make well. The wonton soup is one of the best I've ever had anywhere! Their egg rolls (vegetable & pork) are made just right and not too greasy or sit heavy in your stomach. (if you've had a greasy egg roll, you know what I mean.) Their crab rangoons are to die for, along with the fried shrimp.
THe other dishes I recommend are
Mongolian Beef Spicy Basil Beef Sitr Fry Prawns
Once I find something I like, I tend to stick to it so I pretty much revolve between all of these dishes each time we order. That's no ill bearing on Bamboo Garden, each new thing I've tried from them has been delicious! If you live in the area, then you definitely need to eat here! As a matter of fact, I'm going to...
Read moreWorst customer service, I ordered orange chicken (which is what I order everytime I go out to eat Chinese) and it tasted like they deep fried it in 5 month old grease and threw some sauce over it. The waitress didn't even offer to remake it when I told her how greasy, old, and hard it tasted. The rice was decent but I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! THE ABSOLUTE WORST ORANGE CHICKEN I HAVE EVER TASTED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE 😫 HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! BETTER OFF GOING TO PANDA EXPRESS!!! Especially with the economy nowadays, restaurants really should be more mindful on what they serve their customers, and how they treat them!!! Save your money, and time, but mostly tastebuds!!! Worst money I ever spent at a restaurant 🤬😠😡I didn't even ask her to remove it from the bill, and she could've at Least offered an alternative or refund. I wasn't asking for anything free, just a good meal!! And good service, which I didn't receive either one of!!! From here on out I will go with what I know, which is always Quality Chinese food..#1 Chop Suey in Oak Forest!! They never disappoint!! The food is always fresh and the employees are always polite!! Too bad for Bamboo Garden!! They lost a very...
Read moreThe service was not great; I felt like they didn't want to serve me. I am a Caucasian woman, if that makes a difference (it shouldn't). The only waitress who spoke English was at the counter scrolling through her phone the whole time, and I had to walk up there to place my order and to get the check. Even then, she didn't look up right away. It's a sit down restaurant. About twenty minutes after a couple near me left, she began cleaning up after them. The floor was dirty for the entire time. Also, I asked if she would be willing to use my phone to describe the place on Google Maps and she declined. She didn't give her name, but she looks like she's in college. She was working there on a Sunday evening. As for the food, it didn't look like the picture and was bland and a bit greasy for my taste. After I added soy sauce and pepper, it was edible. They give you the traditional fortune cookie with your bill. The videogames are all...
