Man, I wish I could give negative stars! First off....this is a long review. Well, where to start....we have been going here for 8 years with all 3 boys, specifically seeing Dr. Ryan Cregger. During the 8 years we explained to him that we only want x-rays that are medically necessary, rather than just every year they are determined to have them. And, we have had x-rays for our sons. Dr. Cregger seemed okay with that for 8 years. Mind you our sons have never had a cavity (and they are 10, 13 and 15). We signed a document indicating no x-rays unless medically necessary and we were all happy (including Dr. Cregger). That changed this last visit (last week). Dr. Cregger was not working on the day I needed to reschedule our visit and so 2 of my 3 boys saw Dr. Robyn Hofelich. She asked the tech to see my 10 year old son's pan x-ray. Dr. Robyn was told he doesn't have one. She said he needs one and if we don't do it then perhaps we need to find another practice to take care of us from now on. This put me on the defensive....a bit of a bully move for a doctor. I told her I felt like she was bullying me into radiation for my son and I do not get bullied. It is my job to protect my son from unnecessary procedures. She apologized, but just said again...we might need to move on. I asked for the machine specs so I could research on my own and told her that perhaps we will do it next visit. I'll be honest...I wasn't very nice. You should never threaten any one to kick them out of your practice...in the middle of a room full of people...awful experience! Everyone was staring at us...terrible and embarrassing. I said I would research and call if I had questions. On my way out I asked if I could have Dr. Cregger call me so I could discuss how a person in his office could just jump to the threat of kicking us out without really discussing anything. He NEVER called. He only sent us a registered letter (not even addressed to our names, just parent or guardian) kicking us out of his practice. Yes, we were fired as customers. Specifically he sited "Failure to comply with recommended diagnostic procedures, and lack of doctor/patient trust." None of this is actually true. The doctor did not really give me any detailed indication why she needed the pan x-ray. She did say she expected more teeth to be in, but according to WebMD, my son seems to be on track. She mentioned something about the molars could be coming in sideways due to how my sons teeth were looking...however, they have looked the same since he got his permanent teeth. She also said to decide by next visit. As far as lack of doctor/patient trust...that happened for me when I received this letter rather than a phone call. I am so very disappointed in Dr. Cregger's actions. He doesn't even have the decency to talk to a customer of 8 years via phone...he can only send a letter. I even called today to see if I could talk to the office manager...no such luck. It was a mistake to see Dr. Robyn...she ruined our dentist relationship with Dr. Cregger...but then again, it showed Dr. Cregger's real side. Alright, thanks...
Read moreOverall staff is fair (very hit or miss) and the office is set up well for kids with tvs on the ceiling. My kids enjoy getting a prize and their goodie bag of dental items after their cleanings. We’ve been going there for 7 years and the place has changed a LOT, and not for the better. It now feels more like a factory. I used to be able to take photos of my kids (no other kids were in the pictures) but last time i was scolded for taking photos and asked to put my phone away. My kids are familiar with the place bc we’ve been so many times for regular cleanings, so we never have an issue with crying but if they were younger, I’m not so sure how they would respond given how things have changed. We used to see the same provider every time which is very important for children. When our original dentist left, we received a note in the mail and were notified with information on the replacement. For about the past two years, it seems every 6 months we come in, we see someone different and had no awareness there are now 2-3 dentists there. With that, the last dentist we saw developed a treatment plan, but the review of the plan with my son and husband was not super clear as we were informed of something different upon our return visit to have a cavity filled. This is not ideal for kids when you leave thinking one thing, prepare to come back and then they are told something else. My son was super anxious and overwhelmed because he thought he only had 1 cavity and was told he has two. Then the assistant made several comments about him eating too much candy and not flossing which is why he got a cavity, and the poor kiddo broke down in tears and left feeling like he was a failure. He actually eats very healthy and flosses every night so her comments were accusatory and not well received. It’s one thing to educate kids, but her method had my child in tears. If you try to call, it can be challenging getting someone on the phone and if you leave a message, you don’t always get a return call. Again, it just feels more like a factory and has lost the caring vibe it once used to have. The facility seems more...
Read moreI went to this dentistry as a younger teen for my braces a few years back. I am now a young adult, and I want to share how awful some of the members are.
The men who came to check up on me after my wires were changed are wonderful - they treated my siblings and I with nothing but respect and kindness.
Some of the ladies who actually worked on my braces, however, are a completely different story. There are a few who were delightful, but the majority I've had the complete DISPLEASURE of meeting were horrible. They had always seemed apathetic to my family's presence. I had often felt that they'd never particularly liked me, a shy 14 year old girl just trying to get my teeth straightened. During one appointment, the lady working on my braces (named Finch? Fitch?) asked me if I'd been wearing my rubber bands. I told her (truthfully) that I had been, and when she told me to put them in, I asked if I could use a mirror, for I had never put them in without one.
She GLARED at me and stated something along the lines of "So you haven't been wearing them. You were lying".
I was completely shocked by her tone and accusation. I was too young and confused to tell her that I had, in fact, been wearing the bands, so I simply headed over to the mirror and spent the rest of the appointment in silence.
I wish I had stood up for myself back then; I shouldn't have let that disrespectful woman basically call me a liar.
There was also an incident involving the ladies at the front desk and my mother at one point, and it was the reason we stopped going.
If customer service at a DENTISTRY of all places consists of rude, stand-offish workers, difficult employees, and women that would falsely accuse a young girl of lying, it does not deserve your patronage. The few great staff members there sadly do not make up...
