Astou African Hair Braiding — Attraction in Brockton

I just walked out before my hair got touched. It's 9am on a Sunday morning. Where's the happy music? Where's the smiles? Where's the Hi and welcome when someone walks in? AND where's the health and cleanliness standards? The first girl I saw when I walked in didn't address me until I addressed her. She appeared as if she didn't want to be there. Maybe she is having a bad morning but a NEW customer should not feel that. She went straight to asking me for a photo of the style I wanted after another girl spoke to her in another language. Maybe there was a language barrier so she doesn't understand english? With all due respect the other girl was nicer than her and I guess I would of let her do my hair if you was available. I showed the 1st girl the hair style video and then we headed to the sink to wash my hair. She moved a pedicure foot spa under the chair I would sit on and was ready to touch my hair without washing her hands. I was not okay with her touching the foot spa then go straight to touch my hair. When I asked as nice as I could would she clean her hands, she just rinsed her hands with water. I asked her to clean her hands with soap. She cleaned it with soap and left the suds in the sink and expected me to put my hair down in that. NO THANK YOU. I left. I shouldn't have to explain health and cleanliness expectations to a hair stylist. Some people have anxiety going to a salon they are trying to trust. She...

Amazing Amazing Amazing! I got micros done and the work is flawless! I have been looking for a good place to get my hair braided for a long time and unfortunately had to go through coals before I found this diamond!! I am a permanent customer! It is family oriented. They only took a couple breaks to eat and take care of a few things, but I am not complaining. I bought my own hair but they have hair there to buy if need be. The work was done very quickly but quality definitely did not suffer! Overall great experience. As soon as walked in I was taken right away. It wasn't busy at all there was another women getting a sew in and that also came out very beautiful. They also do kids hair too. I left a very satisfied happy customer and definitely will be back. Also, that day their kids were there but honestly it didn't bother me one bit. I am a big person on family and I enjoyed their company. I am not saying their children are there all the time because they assured me that this was a rarity. But none the less, things happen and it definitely did not bother me none. Horrible experience! The owner charged me $107 for 6 cornrows, a wash (I brought my own shampoo & conditioner) & two packs of hair. The braids are not what I asked for (I asked for 8-10 braids, I informed her as she was braiding the braids were too large, she ignored me). After she finished, she cut the ends of my braids (which I aksed her NOT to do. Who does that ever?) and now all of my braids are unraveling (I also informed her of this before I left & she quickly got an attitude). My braids look like I've had them for two weeks, it's only been four days. Super disappointed. $107 later, unraveled braids & I have to pay to get it redone this week. Damn shame Braiding isn't...
