Had a horrible experience with the new donor physical exam. When listing off my medication, the nurse Charlotte (Char) proceeded to Google my medication to see if it was compatible with donating.
I had explained earlier that I had a child who is almost 2 years old, and she realized I had been taking the medication while pregnant and asked me questions about that. I explained I spoke with my primary doctor, my OBGYN, and my psychiatrist, they all agreed my medication was fine during pregnancy. (Also a second OBGYN but that's besides the point)
This nurse who had to GOOGLE what the medication even was then proceeded to tell me ALL of the birth defects my child could have had or still have. She said he could still have an undiagnosed heart or brain defect. That is completely and utterly unacceptable. She has zero knowledge about the subject and had no right to tell me my child might have something wrong with them when she was not involved in my prenatal care whatsoever. She tried to make me feel like human garbage for "putting my child at risk".
I was unable to be a donor, but this review has nothing to do with that and everything to do with how I was treated by this woman. There was more. However, this is my private medical information. I'm already divulging and do not want to divulge further on...
Read moreTheir reception is convivial, informative and playful, specially April she’s great. The phlebotomists on their crew, are some of the best too. Heidi, executes a perfect stick every time - you’ll never have any issue. Secondly, well they’re all good but.. Cenita,, will strike up friendly conversation, make you feel at home and the stick. You won’t even feel it - flawless! Last, BUT definitely not least.. Paw,,, she knows the veins and the machine like the back of her hand. [The only time you’ll have an issue, is if you didn’t eat healthy the night before.] She’s so technical, however! “I’m saying mitus touch,” couple of presses of a few buttons or comfortably adjusting that needle, and that blood pump is revolving at a hundred miles a minute (not literally.)
