Our family of 3 went here today for the first time, and it was not the experience we had hoped for. We were in the area and decided to stop by & check out the VR options. We've played one other VR game at a different business and had a fun time. We only had about an hour before we needed to be somewhere, so we asked the guy at the desk specifically whether the 3 of us could get in to play a VR game right away, and whether we would all 3 be able to play together at the same time on a team. We were told yes and paid over $90 to play for 1 hour. We then went to find the VR section and we were surprised to see a long line, and what looked like only 1 person per station, which were nearly full. There were 2 staff members there and it seemed to take several minutes to get each person set up. At this point, I questioned whether we would be getting out of there in an hour. Luckily we were able to catch one of the staff members and double checked to ensure we could all play together and to see around how long that would take. He indicated it is one person per section, and that you are not able to play together. I then asked if I could get a refund as that was the whole reason we paid for the VR experience and we directly asked before paying. We were told there were no refunds. Instead we were given tickets to play the Omni Arena, which shows online is an 8 minute experience for $15 a person. We went ahead and played, and unfortunately my wife and daughter (12 yo) experienced significant motion sickness. My daughter's started when we got in the car. I was unaware this was such a possibility with the Omni game and wished we had received some kind of warning. My daughter gets motion sickness in the car at times, but didn't have any problem at our last VR game, so we didn't think it would be an issue. We were offered the chance to play for 15 more minutes doing some nerf game, but my wife was feeling very nauseous and needed to get fresh air, so we left. So basically we paid over $90 for what should have been $45 and didn't even get to enjoy it. I totally understand that people make mistakes, but we should have had the choice to receive a refund. Lesson learned. We will not...
Read moreI want to share our honest experience hosting a birthday party here. I'll start with the good - the place was clean and the music was good. The manager (or perhaps owner, I'm not certain) was friendly, made the birthday boy feel special, and was clearly working really hard to serve guests and keep things moving along. The man never stopped moving, running across the large facility to check in party guests, help in the concessions area, and take care of guests not associated with our party. The kids generally enjoyed the atmosphere, and when they got to play Nerf Wars, had a great time. The manager also let the kids stay a bit longer than the scheduled party time due to the snafus I'll describe next.
The negatives were that the place was severely understaffed. We arrived around 5:50 for a 6 p.m. birthday party (meant to last from 6-8 p.m. and for an 11 year old boy) and it was about 6:15 before a human showed up to show us to the birthday area / give kids their wrist bands. Then, the kids were checked into Nerf Wars and had a LONG wait to even get started, during which they stood in a hot, dark room sweating and waiting to play (this was after they'd waited in line to play, as expected). The VR area was similar in that after waiting in line, the birthday boy couldn't figure out how to use the VR machine and the poor kid working and getting other kids set up didn't have much bandwidth to help him, so he basically stood there in a box hoping it'd eventually start working. This story continues to each item the kids tried to play. All in all, we spent over $400 for kids to wait in line, and while a little extra time was tagged on to the end of the party, since parents were arriving to pick up kids at 8 p.m., there was a little frustration there as well.
This will be a great place if they get the staffing...
Read moreWhere to begin with this absolutely amazing place. My wife and I were taking our son here for a special day. The pricing is more than fair for what you're getting. The attractions are honestly nostalgic for the adults with old arcade games and pinball machines and fun for the kids. We did an hour pass for all of us and got our son x-pass. We did the 3-point b-ball, VR and Nerf war. I also bought drinks and got a game card with $10 of credits. We relaxed at the end in the pod playing Xbox. A gentleman came and checked in on us his name was Ray. I figured he was a normal worker making rounds. We chatted and he learned we tried to win the small prizes at the b-ball attraction and failed but we had fun. We mentioned our son got A-B honor roll and Ray asked what prize he wanted and our son mentioned a fidget spinner. Ray went and got him one and a T-shirt and said keep up the hard work in school. Our son's face lit up and was super thankful. We thought maybe Ray was a manager after that. Turns out Ray Embry is the owner color me surprised to find this out. This man made an already great day into an even better one. His establishment is superb and fun, including the added benefit Ray himself isn't like other owners who sit back and collect the profit he's actually doing the work and being hands on. He mentioned wanting to do tournaments for gamers but needs someone to host it while they sponsor. I plan on reaching out to fellow gamers to help him out. This place isn't just for the kids, it's for everyone of all ages to relax, have fun, and embrace the joy we tend to lose sight of in everyday life. GO CHECK THIS PLACE IT AND HAVE FUN!! MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO RAY...
