Hilligoss Bakery — Restaurant in Brownsburg

I stopped by yesterday at about 6:15 a.m. as a first time visitor. I had seen pictures of their cinnamon rolls online so I was really excited. When I got there, there were no cinnamon rolls on display, so I asked. She said they would be ready in "30 minutes to an hour." I didn't think much about it and ordered some glazed donuts instead.. But before I left, I asked, "just so I can plan ahead, are the cinnamon rolls always ready a half hour to an hour after you open?" The cashier said "it depends - on several things - like how long it takes the dough to rise." I'm not a professional baker, but I do know a little about science. If you're using the exact same ingredients day after day and following the exact same recipe year after year (which I presume they are and have been) - why would the time it takes the dough to rise EVER change? - unless you're changing the temperature of the bakery to 75 degrees one day and 66 the next - and why would you do that? None of it made any sense. To make matters worse, I chipped my tooth when i was taking a bite out of my donut and hit a pothole leaving the parking lot. I have seldom seen a parking lot in worse disrepair. The donuts were good - but this place needs to get their...

To the person who gave them one star - learn to read. There is a sign clearly visible on the front door that states their cash OR check policy. Credit card transactions take a percentage of each sale on top of sales taxes. If they don't want to pay those charges, it's completely their right not to do so. They have been a Brownsburg institution for over 30 years. I'd say they are doing just fine without your $2.85. There are several ATM options VERY nearby to get cash quickly...probably quicker than driving through town to the hideously grotesque Dunkin' Donuts. What kind of parent are you to give your son a sand and wax candle flavored monstrosity from DD rather than taking the time and small amount of effort to treat them to a Hilligoss glory-filled donut? If I knew who you were, I would report you to CPS for that. It's abuse. Really. Dunkin' Donuts is everything that is wrong with this country. "Here son...have a dry, plasticy, 'baked last week and frozen till last night' sorry excuse of a donut." ...

Hilligoss is the best bakery 🥯!!! Iv been coming to them for basically every year of my life. I was raised in Brownsburg, with my family. & Iv always enjoyed their Chocolate Cream filled donuts. 🍩 w/ the. Swirl &&& they have powered sugar my favorite donuts of my life. I also like the white ones, during Christmas 🎅 they do them green & red!!! My family members enjoy there other donuts also. My suggestion is to get there super early or they sell out anyone in this town!!! Who’s known the bakery knows they bake at 3 am donuts are done by 5am …… & ready for 6 am…… they litterally sell out. Quick & if you’re late to the game you will miss out on your favorites. &&& I tell you dont sleep 💤 in ….. I live in Los Angeles (Orange County) &&& I still love my donuts at Hilligoss bakery...
