I called today around 10:00 am, Sunday April 29th. I asked roughly what DVDs and VHS were going for if I were to take my collection in to sell.
The man on the phone told me no estimates over the phone. I explained I was not looking for an estimate but rather a ball park, is it 10cents to a buck on average, or $3 to 8$ on average? Again, I got "I don't give estimates over the phone".
I decided that Bullmoose being the local and honest company they are praised to be, it wouldn't hurt to bring them down and find out.
I brought in 4 boxes roughly the size of a small diahwasher, containing almost every Disney VHS ever made in the 90s, and between 150 to 200 DVDs, all good playing condition with their cases. A dozen or more new movies, and many blueray movies also.
After loading up the boxes, making the 30 minute drive, and waiting an hour for them to count and scan, I was invested in this exchange and was ready to take their offer.
I got a grand total of $51 for hundreds of titles, in great condition. A lifetime of movies, over $3,000 new, and walked away with $51.
Folks, I left the store with a bright red face, embarrassed and shocked.
Shady deals down there. Good luck to anyone wanting a fair deal here, and personally... I WILL NEVER go back into that store....
Read moreI have over 600 cd’s and quite a few boxed sets, Stones, Bruce,, Dylan, Hendrix, etc. I brought them to Bull Moose thinking a dollar a cd and a little extra for boxed sets would be fair. I left the 600 in the car and brought in the boxed sets to gauge what they would offer. Well, they didn’t want the Timelife Mozart collect or the Timelife Christmas collection. The employee was offering me 10 cents if they had scratches. In total I brought in about 50 cd’s and was offered $9. I treated my collection good and I know a couple of scratches doesn’t effect the quality of the sound or playback. Am I out of touch? I felt like I was being ripped off. Back in the day when I used to buy vinyl and plastic, Bullmose was always first on my list. You could talk to employees and even get good suggestions. Now, not so sure now. I also have over 300 vintage vinyl albums to sell, won’t be going to Bullmose to sell those. I do admit, I listen to music on Spotify and don’t have any use for vinyl or plastic. Maybe, I am out of...
Read moreHaving utilized the Bullmoose buyback program for about a year now I have to report that it is an extremely demoralizing experience. Embarrassing is another word that comes to mind not just for the customer but for the Bullmoose employees who must process the transaction. Paying pennies on the dollar and looking customers in the face to make such low ball offers must be a soul sucking experience. It most surely is challenging for people who might otherwise act in the world outside of this business with much more integrity and it leaves an incredibly bad impression. Please note that severe underpayment for used items is a theme of the Bullmoose negative reviews. I’m never looking for top dollar on a trade but basic fairness would be an acceptable starting point and twenty five cents for items that are then priced at $9.97 or even $5.97 is unconscionable. Bullmoose should do a lot better for...
