Strange experience. I walked in and the place was empty and there was a woman (a worker?) sitting on a stool talking to a couple of customers (the only ones there). Sign says wait to be seated. I wait, she looks at me, I wait, she looks at me. About two minutes later she says I can sit anywhere. I sit over in the front by the door. I wait, nobody comes around. Perhaps a few minutes.
Suddenly a guy appears in a hawaiian shirt and shorts and says, "Oh, I didn't see you there! How long have you been here?" I thought at first, this guy thinks he's meeting me for lunch (maybe business or real estate) and he mistakes me for the other guy. I didn't have a coherent answer, I almost said "I think you mistook me for someone else" but then I realize the guy is my waiter. Mind you, there was no introduction. So surreal.
Anyways, it takes about five minutes to work my order in. Mind you, the place is empty and there seems to be 3-4 front end workers. I ordered the turkey sandwich.
I received the turkey sandwich and it was about 5 oz of cold turkey breast on a lukewarm set of pieces of bread. Beside tomato, there was nothing on it. No condiment, gravy, anything. I am still not sure what the hell was missing. I'm remembering the menu and I guess it was literally what the sandwich came as? I almost choked on the dry thing. It was dry, cold, boring. $13.00. If I recall it came with chips. I could have made four of these sandwiches at home for the same price.
As I left, Hawaii was at the door. Didn't say anything as I left. No friendly thanks for anything. I don't know if this was because their checkout with card is a computer they hand you at the table (Stop this, businesses, I just ate food with my hands. Not even a covid issue. Just a straight up, no, gross. Let me pay at the counter for chrissake), and I tipped maybe 15%.
I am still...
Read more[ ] Vibe- we sat outside so we can’t really review this category. They did have a cute special board outside, but no prices. n/a
[ ] Cleanliness- silverware in little baskets, both cups and silverware were nice and clean. The creamer basket had someone’s sugar packet trash. Hot sauce lids not clean. 3/5
[ ] Service- the host greeted us promptly, we didn’t have to wait for a table. we liked our server, she was very professional. She did not check in on us until the end of the meal. Other support staff was very kind and brought us 2 coffee refills and cleaned our plates. The server behind us offered his table split checks and had a sense of humor. 4/5
[ ] Food- eggs mcgregor had a very good variety of vegetables. Poached eggs were cooked just right. Could have used a litttle more corn beef to balance it out. The homefries were very good and well seasoned. 3/5
[ ] Thick French toast- came with two real maple syrup’s. The server made sure it came out without powder sugar like I requested. The French toast itself was not as thick as I expected but pretty average. 3/5
[ ] Western omelette- I got to select my cheese, they have several options. I think the omelette was a little heavy on peppers but they were yummy peppers! I did not like that it was sliced deli ham hanging out of the omelette. The home fries were soft and golden. The English muffin was different but not home made. 2/5
[ ] Price - pretty average. I feel like the mcgregor was overpriced as it barely had any corned beef. 3/5
One thing I’d change is switch to ketchup bottles rather than packets (unless you already do this inside). One of us liked the coffee and one of us did not.
[ ] Overall score- 3/5 a very...
Read more$23 and still hungry. First thing my girlfriend said when she picked up the bag and got in the truck to go home was it felt really lite for two large sandwiches. The Reuben had maybe three ounces of corned beef on paper thin butter soaked bread and a pinch of sauerkraut with hardly any thousand island. The mushroom pesto sandwich ( the bread size ) was much smaller than the Reuben even though they were both ordered as large. They tasted good… but the sizing for the price was ridiculous and the bread was as super thin and hadn’t been completely filled in with the sandwich ingredients. It should be completely filled from crust to crust especially if you call your store a delicatessen. A $13 sandwich shouldn’t only have $3 dollars worth of food in it. I thought maybe it was fluke since the place was busy when we picked up our food and people seemed to enjoy it, but after getting home ( can’t send it back if it’s picked up )and eating, I checked the reviews a bit closer and after reading the response of the owner to one of the reviews I now realize I won’t be back. His long reply sounded like nothing more than excuses as to why the customer was wrong and how hard it is to run his business. As the customer that is not my problem, I just want a large sandwich to be just that, large and worth the money, and service that reflects quality. Try another place and save your money and time by avoiding this one. Oh, and the pickles smelled like fish. No...
