The venue is nice. Easily accessible, & nice grassy area for seating. No "rules" posted online for the particular concert event I attended (that we could find on their website), so we went off another concert series post. Bad plan. It wasn't the same. I was OK being told to empty my water bottle, because I was assured there were water stations inside. If by that they meant the $4 water bottles for purchase...I was even OK with that as that is nothing new (disappointing but not unheard of). However, it became clear that the drink vendor situation was poorly planned. Two-hour wait to purchase beverages - including water & sodas (at an event titled Margarita Salsa Festival) in Texas heat, makes me uncertain if I'll return for another similar function. We missed both opening acts (could hear from afar but not see them), & most of the crowd had left, prior to the featured performance. No one wants to wait in line for 2 hours (many with small children). This isn’t Disney. There is no ride at the end...
Read moreBuda Amphitheater and City Park is such a gem for families and honestly anyone who just wants to be outside.
The playgrounds are big and creative and even my teenager had fun climbing and hanging out. The splash pad is clean and well-kept which made it a total hit on a hot day. There’s tons of space for running around, flying kites, or just stretching out on the grass.
I love that the park stays so clean and well maintained. Sidewalks are smooth enough for scooters and skates, and there are plenty of benches and tables if you want to picnic. Parking is easy and you can walk right into downtown Buda for coffee or a snack after.
On Sundays the farmers market sets up under the covered pavilion and it is the cutest. Shade, snacks, plants, and coffee while the kids play. It’s a perfect Sunday routine.
Concerts and events here are so fun too. Between the open space, the stage, and just the whole atmosphere, it really feels like the heart of the town. Highly...
Read moreWe have watched a few live musicals at the amphitheater and it has been a HIT with the kids :) It’s Texas so the evening shows are gonna be a little toasty but as soon as the sun is down for like an hour or so, it’s not so bad. Maybe bring a fan and water to beat the heat. We also frequent the park with our family of all differing ages and we love it. They planted gorgeous young trees that will one day be beautiful giants that offer great shade. As with most Texan parks, I wish they had built-in shade that wasn’t just trees. It’s opens and lovely and I understand aesthetically why they don’t want to build shade over the parks but kids just roast out there after like 15 minutes of play. My kids like the splash pad and it’s a fun reprieve from the heat but still - parents are left standing around in the heat and I feel like it could be better! Overall, we do love...
