It's Historical, I used to go there since I was 9 years old , all stores are near by, our Puerto Rican people are very friendly & welcoming which is the part that I love about our Island, every where you go you get greeted with a smile & afection, they are always willing to help you out if you need directions or help in something, it's like if they knew you for ll your life, they are very warm & carrying people, every time in my perssonal experience I have always enjoyed my self when I have visited the Town of Caguas, I had lunch there the other day, I had a sandwitch with ham & cheese & an excellent cup of coffee which I enjoyed very much, it had a heart shape on it, it was served with lots of love from their employees, it was a little tiny sort of like Café Store but they had a few breakfast & lunch options & they had different types of beverages & snacks for a very economical price this Plaza it's not too far from my Home Town in San Lorenzo which is like a half an hour away so you should also visit our Plaza Pública de recreo de Policarpo Santana Flores & the Plaza of the Alcaldes the Mayors they are close by to eachother, they have the Cathlic Church, a beautiful Public Libary in our Town of San Lorenzo we, have The Monument to the Veterans which it's a very Historical place to visit & they have a lot of Great little Places to eat & Coffee shops & they even have a Herbal Life Stands too , all this is right in the middle of our town & some other stores & further down wehave The Big Shopping Center, the people in our Community are the same way as the people in Caguas very friendly, our Plaza is very beautiful too & very Historical we have statues of all the prior Mayors, we have a wall with the Puerto Rican flag where you can take pictures if you are visiting with friends or Family, there is a sitting area with a beautiful water fountain where you can sit & relax & read a book or just gathered with Family & friends, its kept Super clean & all the Municipal employess of maintenance from there are very nice & welcoming too just like the people in Caguas plus Chayanne the very famous Singer & Actor was born & grew up in our Town of San Lorenzo he just came out with the new bachata song which is a total hit with the tittle of Bailando Bachata, you have to listen to it, its an Awesome song if you are visiting the Island tune in to WKQ 104 its one of our favorite radio stations, with The best Music , Chayanne was also was the main character in The Movie of Dance with me with Vanessa Williams many years ago in 1998, which was a an spectacular movie!! He graduated from my same High School The José Campeche which is also located in San Lorenzo & it was named after a very Famous Artist in Painting, José Campeche & if you happen to be near it right in front of the School Shorty has his Food truck & makes the best warm sandwiches in town & has great bevarages as well too & he has been their for many years since we were in School & imagine for how long because I graduated from our High School back in 1990 & their is even a bridge named after Chayanne in our Home Town of San Lorenzo, El Puente de Chayanne!! Este territorio comenzó a poblarse temprano durante la colonización gracias a su fértil suelo, excelente para la agricultura y la ganadería. Muchos colonos llegaron huyendo de los ataques que sufría la capital. La aldea que dio origen a Caguas se organizó durante las primeras décadas del siglo 17 dentro del gran Hato de los Delgado. Su nombre fue San Sebastián del Barrero debido a la abundancia de arcilla adecuada para la alfarería. Se cree que la solicitud para fundar un pueblo se radicó a comienzos de la década de 1770 y el año más citado para su fundación es 1775. El nombre original del municipio fue San Sebastián del Piñal de Caguas. El pueblo recibió el título de Villa en 1820 y el de ciudad en 1894.
La economía dependió por mucho tiempo de la agricultura, particularmente de la caña de azúcar, el tabaco, los frutos menores y la ganadería. Hoy los terrenos del valle se encuentran mayormente urbanizados, siendo la industria y el comercio los puntales principales de la economía. La Plaza Santiago R. Palmer (una de las plazas de recreo más bellas de Puerto Rico, en gran parte por la abundancia y diversidad de la vegetación), el Centro de Bellas Artes y el Museo de Arte son algunas de las atracciones de este municipio, que se ha convertido en uno de los principales centros culturales de la isla. Los amantes de la naturaleza disfrutarán el Jardín Botánico, ubicado a las afueras de la ciudad.
Concha Meléndez (educadora y escritora), Eugenio Astol (escritor y periodista) y Margot Arce de Vázquez (educadora y escritora) son cagüeños destacados. Carlos Manuel Rodríguez (primer beato puertorriqueño) también nació en Caguas. El municipio se conoce además como la Ciudad criolla (por su orgullo por la puertorriqueñidad) y el Corazón de Borinquen (por su ubicación céntrica entre la capital y el sur de la isla). El renombre de Ciudad del Turabo deriva de su ubicación en el Valle del Río Turabo.
•En el 1626 había una ermita que para 1775 se había convertido en la Iglesia Dulce Nombre de Jesús.
•Durante la década de 1830 se construyó un templo de mampostería que se usó hasta 1928, cuando fue seriamente dañado por el Huracán San Felipe.

There are various stalls for foods, snacks and some artesan selling merchandise. The activites do vary each saturday so there is always something to look foward to.
On weekdays is a peaceful plaza to go for a nice walk and relax with the stalls still opens and various store and restaurants near the plaza.
