What could have been… if you are a fan of flavor and don’t mind waiting hour and a half plus hours for your sushi this place is for you. If you value your time then go elsewhere.

The night started on a promise.. excellent drinks and service. And I mean excellent. Apps took about 20 minutes to arrive, which felt like a bit of a wait, but they were worth it. The eggplant was sweet and crisp, and the Bao mi delivered a great balance of salty, savory pork in a soft cloud bun.

Then came the sushi order—and everything fell apart.

We waited. And waited. One hour turned into an hour and a half. Still nothing. I lost all interest in food, ran out of conversation topics with my date, got sleepy and bitter and angry. Eventually, after 1 hour and 45 minutes, I asked our bartender/server what was going on. That’s not an exaggeration—I actually checked the timestamp on the photo I took of the appetizers.

Javier my brother in Christ… what did you think two customers were doing for almost 2 hours after ordering the starters and no more drinks doing in front of you? At what point did it occur to you to check in?

I really enjoyed the food, but respect is the bare minimum in hospitality, and being completely forgotten for that long—while seated right in front of the person responsible for us—just felt awful.

You told us it was the first time that’s ever happened, and I believe you. I hope it stays the only time. You have the potential to make this place great. But tonight was a serious disappointment

You can tell me that you are bringing tuna spoonfed with baby tears, sliced by angels served in unicorn horns, seasoned by rainbows and I will not step back in that restaurant.

You are an excellent mixologist and the food we had a chance to eat was nice. Some meals leave a bad taste not because of the food, but because of the experience.

The best sushi I’ve ever had!!

We ordered for appetizer dumplings and edamame, and had to order a second round of dumplings. The dumplings were delicious, crunchy at the bottom, on a sauce that was so good with fresh green onions. The edamame was cooked with some soy sauce, and served with sesame seed. They were the perfect combination of savory and sweet. I dip my finger on the sauce.

For the meal with order two rolls, la jibara and the Piñongo (I think sorry). La jibara was so good, perfect mix of PR and Japan, with sweet plantain on top. I usually eat my sushi with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger, but it was not needed, they were delicious.

But to end it, they had a sesame seed flan, with Malanga ice cream, which is a root vegetable, made with coconut cream and it was topped with crunchy coconut slices and raspberries.

I didn’t want my food to end. Although I was full, I could continue eating more and more. Felt very light, very fresh and extremely tasty.

I would give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could. We also ordered two beers and a soda and it was only 66$ More than worth it.

Parking is on the street, it’s a small restaurant, but it was not super busy (I don’t know why!!) but I know it will be a matter of time, as they have not been in that location for too long.

Food 10/10 Service 10/10

We are planning to go there at least once a month as we live a little far away.

Piñangon restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be on everyone’s dining radar! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was cozy yet vibrant, setting the stage for a memorable culinary journey.

The cocktails served here are nothing short of amazing. Each sip was a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted by the talented bartender whose passion for mixology shines through in every concoction.

The pork buns were a revelation – soft, pillowy buns filled with succulent pork that melted in my mouth. And let’s talk about the pumpkin soup! Served as a special depending on the day, it was an absolute highlight of my dining experience. Creamy, flavorful, and oh-so-comforting – it left me craving for more.

But beyond the delectable food and drinks, what truly sets Piñangon apart is its impeccable service. The staff, led by the friendly bartender, went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and cared for.

In conclusion, my time at Piñangon was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you’re a foodie in search of culinary delights or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind with friends, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to Piñangon. You won’t be disappointed!

Feel free to tweak it according to your...

If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars I would. The service was top notch, and we were given suggestions when we had questions about what to order. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted delicious. We had the "Berenjena Frita" (Fried Eggplant) for appetizer, and it was perfectly cooked, it hits with a fresh taste of cilantro followed by the more savory taste of the eggplant and teriyaki sauce. We had 2 sushi rolls and both were excellent: the SuperCali and the El Jibaro. Very different flavors, but both very fresh, and we had a very hard time deciding which was best. We also tried the La Passiolita cocktail, which Ill have again in the future. Its now one of my favorite drinks 😂 - a very creative take on a mezcal cocktail. I cant wait to return and try everything else.
