Summary: A different tasting experience. Intimate and informative. Pricey, but worth the experience. Generous pours of at least 5 (we got 7 or 8 different wines). Knowledgeable and friendly staff that like sharing about their wines and anything else you want to talk about.
I went here with my wife and her parents after reading such positive reviews from the Yelp community. The tasting room is located through a narrow near the back of a shopping center across the street from city hall in Sonoma. When we walked in we were told to sit wherever we wanted. There were a couple of tables inside as well as a loveseat, and a couple of tables outside in the mini-courtyard as well. We sat outside and were very well attended. As soon as one person's glass was empty, our server (I apologize for forgetting his name, but a young guy) came by to fill it up. He brought us wines that were not on the tasting list, including a Tannat, which we had never even heard of. It was a great experience that we all...
Read moreWell, I can not say enough good things about working with Drew and the Westwood team. We own and operate a luxury wine tour company in Napa and one of the best experiences in the valley is with Westwood at Brasswood. They offer a wonderful variety of wines from unique whites and light reds to bolder Cabernet Sauvignons produced by one of the greatest winemakers on the planet. If you opt for the food and wine experience which I highly recommend you have a wonderful paring with each wine. Drew and the Westwood team are very knowledgeable about the different regions and AVAs of both Napa and Sonoma Counties as they produce wines from both sides. Brasswood, where they host their visitors is a cool property and space in that it is pretty much a resort excluding the hotel and they have a custom crush center where a handful of very small producers creating great wines are able to share the space to craft their boutique productions. Amazing hospitality and knowledge and I highly recommend a...
Read moreA truly high class, unforgettable tasting experience. First off, all the wines were superb, especially the Legend Cabernet Sauvignon. The Pinots (of which there were several) were also spot on, with just the right amount of breadth and complexity that makes a memorable pinot. The setting was very private and beautiful. This is not a belly up to the counter and get poured a few small glasses of cheap wine next to 20 other couples tasting. We had a private room, sat on a lovely, comfortable couch with a fireplace and a printed menu with our names on it. The cheese pairing with the wine was also about as good as it gets. Our host was a well educated sommelier who walked us patiently through each of the wines and we never felt rushed. If you want to do wine tasting the right way, I would highly recommend a tasting of Westwood wine at...
