Brasswood Bar + Bakery — Restaurant in Napa Valley AVA

This review is for Brasswood Bar + Kitchen, the restaurant part of this location.

Last night, I had dinner there with my wife, and the food and our waiter were top-notch.

We had the fresh Mozzarella, a French onion soup, the risotto with duck leg, and the pork chop and they were all great. It was every so slightly too much (since we had snacked in the late afternoon), so I think we should have skipped the soup (which was still pretty good, but the other 3 dishes were absolutely spectacular).

Our waiter was also great, he had a great attitude and was able to really paint a mental picture of what the dishes would be like to a level I've rarely seen, even at Michelin starred restaurants. He also made great recommendations and overall seemed very knowledgeable, I wish all waiters were like this. Unfortunately, I don't recall his name, but he really was the cherry on top that made this a great experience.

Only thing that could have been improved was that nobody greeted us at the entrance and I had to ask a waiter to point me to the hostess to check-in for my reservation. Still, given the other strengths and the great service from the waiter, this is quite minor.

A++, will definitely visit...

OMG ok ok I don't know how I have not made a review for this place yet. Well, I have been slacking, or maybe not. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag. This is my hands down favorite place to hit up when I'm in the Napa area. After doing some tasting this is the place to be. Or like we do stop in between tastings. The service is always on point. I must come enough that they even remember me sometimes. The food here is just amazing we have never had a bad meal. The fresh mozzarella is to die for. The duck Bolognese is always a show-stopper. Or get that pizza and a side of calamari. So far everything I have had has been delicious. If you are looking for trouble try the cocktails those are also Fire! After you finish eating take a walk around the grounds it's very pretty. Make sure you stop in the back at the little café. They have goodies as well or if you don't have time to sit onsite grab food to go. Whatever you prefer you won't be...

The food here is spectacular. We've been twice, once in September 2019 and again in September 2020. Both times we've had incredible, noteworthy meals. The reason this review isn't higher is that both times we've recieved sub par service. The first time we went we dined in and our waiter was not very helpful. We asked some pretty basic questions (like could you make a wine reservation, about how much do people typically order, are there any specials tonight) and we were met with shrugs and non answers (like I don't know what you like, I don't know how much you eat, and I don't know I'd have to check). We were pretty put off by it but the food was so good we decided we would give it another chance. This year we ordered take out from them to bring back to our hotel.
