I recently had the pleasure of visiting Elusa Winery and trying their wines.
Our host, James, greeted us the door with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc to start the tour, and it only got better from there.
We toured three different tasting rooms and saw all the unique artwork in each room (my favorite was a beautiful copper piece made out of firing a canon ball through the sheets of copper)
We saw the fermentation room, walked the cave of barrels, and entered our tasting room in the middle of the cave.
We tasted at a beautiful table surrounded by an industrial feel of wood and glass. Our tasting room was lit by 60 overhead Edison light bulbs.
We had the privilege of trying the newly released 2022 Cabernet Franc and 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon. These were absolutely delicious wines, even young and right out of the bottle they were vibrant and amazing.

Read moreWe paid for the Library Tasting ($150/person) and were looking forward to the visit. However, we were very disappointed. Let's start with the location. Ask question before you spend $150 for 3 oz total of wines. Hope the winery takes this feedback constructively and make some changes in their customer...

Given that we visited during the winter where the pruning of the vines were just about to begin and a wet front was underway, we opted for a wine tasting session only.
We did get to sample the latest harvests as well as get into a wonderful discussion concerning the history and culture of the Napa Valley wine industry. It was definitely a very informative and enjoyable afternoon spent with our wonderful wine expert Stanley.
As a guest of the resort this experience is not to be missed and is best joined during other more favorable wine...
