Absolutely unacceptable experience at Fleetwood. This place is irresponsible, dishonest, and completely dismissive of dietary restrictions and food allergies.
I ordered a pasta dish called Pulpo, which was described as having tomato, basil, and extra virgin olive oil—nowhere did it mention that Pulpo means octopus in Spanish. When the dish arrived, I was shocked to see it covered in octopus.
Since my partner is vegetarian, we had to go through the hassle of ordering an entirely new dish for them. Even though I don’t like octopus, I decided to eat just the pasta rather than waste food—only to discover after taking a few bites that it also contained pork, which was not listed anywhere on the menu.
This isn’t just an issue of poor communication—it’s outright dangerous. What if I had been allergic? What if someone with religious or ethical dietary restrictions unknowingly ate something they absolutely could not have? A restaurant that refuses to disclose major ingredients is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
When I brought this up, both the waiter and chef separately didn’t apologize or take any responsibility. Instead, they blamed me for not knowing what Pulpo meant and for not somehow assuming the dish might contain pork. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the chef repeatedly asked, “Do you want a discount or something?”—implying I was just trying to scam them for cheaper food. Then he had the nerve to imply he wouldn’t do anything about it anyway because it was an expensive dish and they had already made it.
To be clear, I wasn’t trying to get a comped meal—I was trying to alert them to a real issue that could seriously affect others in the future. Luckily, I don’t have dietary restrictions, but what if I did? Their dismissive attitude makes it clear they don’t care.
And after all that? When the bill arrived, they charged me for everything. No comped dish, no discount, nothing—just a full charge for a meal I couldn’t even eat and a second dish we had to order because of their failure to disclose ingredients.
So let’s be clear: They don’t list ingredients properly, they blame the customer when it causes a problem, they refuse to fix their mistakes, and they’ll still happily take your money after ruining your meal.
This restaurant is careless, arrogant, and completely untrustworthy. If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or just expect basic honesty from a menu, stay far away from this place. I hope others don’t make the mistake of...
Read moreBeing locals and senior managers, one for a hotel and the other for a restaurant we were really wanting our first experince to be a fabulous one. We both love to send our guests to other establishments, especially when we are pleased. When we entered on 6-26 at 4:15pm we approached the hostess stand and said hello, can we get a table for 2. Both young ladies said we don’t open till 5pm. I said your website says 4pm and she said well that’s for social hour. I said well can we have a drink at the bar, she then asked the bartender if he was open. He said yes. We ordered and ice tea and a cider. Both of the young ladies went into a room behind the hostess desk. 5 minutes later a gentleman comes from the that room, with the door. I said excuse me, are you the MOD, he said what, I said are you the MOD, he again said what. I then said the Manager on Duty. He said yes I am. I said I wanted to point out on your website it says your “restaurant says open”. He looked at me as if I were from another planet, confused. He gave me no explanation. He was pretty unresponsive. Non apologetic about the lack of their incorrect website hours. Not very friendly and I was hoping Since the hostesses/waitresses were rude he would be helpful. Not at all. I was shocked that he is in this role, we lead our team by example and I can see why these young ladies could care less about the guests experince. The ladies sat at a table while we waited. Guests came up to ask them a question and they sat there on the clock, giving no assistance. One guest said do you have an elevator to one young man and he said no we don’t have one. When the guests walked off he asked the two ladies. Their response was next time have them go to the front desk. They lack training, hospitality, and the eagerness to help your guests. This was such a horrible experience! I will not be back and we will not be sending any of our guests. Train your team! The energy is horrific! Picture of the two ladies. If you have time to lean you have time...
Read moreI went with a party of 14 people on Jan 18, 2025 to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. The restaurant is cute but a kind of basic in the dining area, though the bar is really nice. It looks like a place that is still getting designed but not there yet. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
The food took a long time to come out. About 45 minutes after we ordered, which was well over an hour after we sat down. Some of the starters started coming out after half the table had their main courses. The main courses also didn’t come at once. The manager apologized and refunded the late appetizers. The food we got tasted very good.
I paid the check and left, but then called back to get a copy so I could share it with the group. At that point I realized they had charged a service charge and I tipped big on the total. That was my fault. I should have read the check more carefully before adding the tip. The group didn’t want to double tip for service that had been unreliable, so I called and asked them to refund the tip. They did. That was nice of them.
Then within a couple days I started getting big charges on my credit card. Almost $7,000 of charges, from the adjoining hotel. I had to cancel my credit card, and I called and spoke to first the restaurant manager and then the hotel manager. Over the next 3 days, I discovered that they had accidentally linked my credit card to at least one, possibly more, hotel guests. It took 3 days to reverse all the charges.
Overall the people were very nice. But they seem disorganized enough that I would give them a while to get their processes in order if you are relying on them for a celebration like I was. Maybe start out with a casual dinner for you and a...
