Love round lake, the trail and the dam! Friendly people often hiking, walking their dogs, jogging etc . The various trails are gorgeous! Jurassic looking forests, rushing water from the creek and the pothole falls are stunning! Just want to add an update... 8/14/22 the last 2 walks in the park involved some very heavy noises in the brush. Today we heard the noises and thought someone was clearing brush or taking down tree branches, but then leaves, branches and I think rocks started flying at us in one small spot. We actually had to run and something nearly got my head. I don't believe they were being tossed from the path above cause it seemed like stuff wasn't at much of an angle. There were no voices, just things breaking through branches and hitting the ground in quick succession from in the trees above in just a small concentrated area. I don't know what to think. A little leary of returning now though. Still gorgeous, but I don't want to go...

Round Lake Loop is a gem for anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The trail is well-maintained, easy to follow, and offers a perfect mix of forest cover, open views, and peaceful stretches along the water. It’s not too strenuous, making it great for families, casual hikers, or anyone looking to unwind in nature.

The loop gives you plenty of moments to pause—whether it’s watching the lake sparkle through the trees, spotting wildlife, or just soaking in the quiet. Seasonal changes keep it interesting, from vibrant fall colors to lush greenery in the spring.

It’s a trail that’s accessible, scenic, and rewarding without demanding too much, which makes it a perfect go-to for a quick escape...

Since moving to the area in mid-April 2025, this has become my primary/almost daily dog-walking spot. Great variety of trails and everything is mostly green even in August. The vast majority of bikers/hikers on the trails are super-friendly and my dog loves it! It is an on-leash area, but many people allow their dogs off leash, depending on how well-travelled a particular trail is. I’ve only encountered well-mannered dogs off leash and owners are always willing to leash. It’s really a...
