The Canton Garden Center is a hidden gem within Stadium Park and adjacent to the canal, the administrative center and the West Branch Trail for Stark Parks.
This is a GREAT place for kids.
There are sensory experiences galore -- every sense is employed if you're brave enough.
I personally love the smell and taste herb gardens that sprawl in multiple directions, but on the right day -- the jumping chimes bring out the exhuberant child in me. There's a beautiful walled in pond -- held in place with a handmade stone wall -- this picturesque setting includes the arched bridge, a steep hill of trees, tiny waterfalls, a cedar tree maze, benches and gazebos. I love wandering here! 🌳 The atmosphere is peaceful, especially when the bells chime, and the world feels still. It's a beautiful spot to connect with nature. 🌺
In front of the center, there's an eternal flame in memory of JFK. 🔥 Sadly, the monument shows some wear with hard water stains, but it's a quick fix for improvement.
While upkeep can be inconsistent, this is still a great spot for photos and teaching kids about the world around them. 📸🌍 I’ll update with photos next time I visit during bloom...
Read morePleasantly surprised when we stopped here after visiting the McKinley Museum. The gardens were beautiful and very well taken care of. There were things for children to play around with, like the musical floor and the little hopscotch. There's a gazebo and a cool dinosaur statute. There was no admission price to tour the gardens but I'm not sure about the building. By the time we came the building was closed for the day. It's actually a very lovely little area. Glad...
