Taqueria El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Canyon

first timers We had such an awful experience here. We arrived almost an hour before close on a Saturday night. We were excited as we saw other reviews talk about “authentic food” our excitement slowly went away as No one greeted us as we walked in. Someone finally came and told us to seat our selves. The waitress came over with a really bad attitude immediately asking us to order, we’ve never been in and literally just opened the menu. We asked for just a second. She walked away and came back not even 15 seconds later saying “yea the kitchen said you need to order now” 45 min before close we just ordered what we could not knowing any of the entrees and just having literally blindly order. A party of 6 walked in right after we ordered and she didn’t tell them they needed to order. We got Guac and queso and sat there without chips for close to 10 mins. We ordered a pastor quesadilla and a steak burrito with beans and rice. Our food came out really fast and the bad attitude waitress almost slamming it down on our table and walking away. The burrito had No sides of beans and rice and no cheese it’s just literally meat wrapped up in a tortilla with almost a half head of lettuce. (We asked literally for no lettuce)

When I asked the waitress if there burritos normally come with just meat and lettuce she scoffed and said well no I guess not? So where’s the rest of the entree? No sort of sorry or anything it was a horrible...

This place honestly is the worst. I walk in to what seems like a vacant restaurant. I cant find any employees whatsoever. We seat ourseleves and I immediately see employee's on their phones talking and staring at us like we aren't supposed to be here. We get one waitress who doesn't talk to us whatsoever she just says "ready?" She doesnt introduce herself or spark any conversation its just awkward. Someone else comes to bring us chips and dip and she slams it on the table, we -unwantingly- say thank you and she, with a disgusted look and says "welcome". I dont know why this particular server has a really bad look on her face or seems to be upset with us or her job but no one has been kind to us and it makes me really scared to eat here honestly. I havent gotten a name or a single word from any employee. Ive also witnessed employees eating and siting down in front of customers which is totally unprofessional and the food is so overpriced and you dont even get free refills togo... wont be...

Hi everybody! Chris again and I just became a Grandpa! Which is what what lead me to this place up in Canyon, TX..after visiting with my daughter and son in law, and of course the sweet little granddaughter, my wife and I were due back home. So before we left we stopped off here for breakfast. It's a nice little place, nothing fancy but well kept. We ordered our food and it did arrive quickly and hot (and as y'all know, that's how it should be! Migas ( I hope I'm spelling it correctly) with the eggs and tortillas in it and my wife ordered a breakfast taco..mine could've used less tortillas and alot more eggs but it was tasty. My wife loved the breakfast taco and truthfully, after tasting hers, it was pretty dang good..lol As far as talent there wasn't much, sad to say..however the tea was good!.. lol I'd say that I would recommend this place, absolutely..swing by, tell 'em...
