Menchies Frozen Yogurt — Attraction in Carlsbad

Excellent frozen yogurt and patient staff. All of their yogurts have amazing flavor. It is uncanny how they get the essence of watermelon or cookie dough so perfectly right in such creamy yogurt. Some are fat free, some are low sugar, all are delicious! But that is true at every Menchies, but this is my favorite Menchies because it is in a nice neighborhood with a nice park and lovely sidewalks for an evening stroll before or after I eat. The store is clean and always stocked with hand cleaner and napkins before you reach the machines. They did get swamped with customers once during a fundraiser for a local school and ran out of a couple toppings, but 95% of the time I find tasting cups carefully laid out so you can pick one up without touching it's neighbors, all machines clean and dispensing, and an amazing smorgasbord of toppings including my favorites: toasted almond pieces, chocolate chips (milk & dark), ground peanut butter cups, strawberry chunks, brownie bits and chocolate shell. In fact, they usually have 3 or 4 topping dispensers including chocolate shell, hot fudge, caramel, marshmallow and/or peanut butter shell. They have fresh waffle cone pieces, too. I like their Tuesday evening fill a cup for $6, too. I can treat a friend without worrying...

My boyfriend and I went in for a treat after dinner and built ourselves each a nice cup of frozen yogurt with plenty of toppings. Two separate parties paid before us with card, and about 5 minutes later it was our turn.

The young lady working let us know after we put our cups on the scale that the WiFi was down, that it would take 30 minutes to go back up, and that she could only accept cash payment. We expressed we only had $3 cash and she immediately became defensive saying that there was nothing she could do.

We were not advised about the ATM down the way, we were not asked to wait while a manager was contacted - literally nothing was done to try and help us get the food we had already prepared. We didn’t need the froyo for free we just wanted some effort in resolving the problem.

In the end, $12 of frozen yogurt was left uneaten and wasted and she messed with the vibe of our night.

This location is really messy, they were out of several things, they didn't have any receipt paper, and when you pointed it out, they just gave you a half-hearted "sorry" but didn't do anything to change it. This location is poorly managed and they need to step it up. They don't seem to care if they keep their customers or not based on their response when you tell them something is missing.
