Panini Kabob Grill - Carlsbad — Restaurant in Carlsbad

The food is tasty, don't get me wrong, but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen and I have gone back several times. I thought maybe it was just a bad day. They ignore you and make you wait and act like you are bothering them when you ask for help. My husband ordered our lunch at 9:30am and explained that he needed it ready by 11:30am, he paid in advance over the phone with a 20% tip. When he got there they ignored him and made him wait for 15 minutes and they weren't even that busy. Then they told him his food would not be ready for another 30 minutes. We had to be back at work in 30 minutes and could not wait. My husband had to cancel the order because we were not able to wait 30 minutes, that was the reason we called in the order hours in advance. Then they refused to credit back his credit card. We checked his account later that day at 7:30 pm and see that they still have not credited his account for the advance payment. He called them and asked why they have not credited his account and they told him that their manager has to approve it and no one has approved it yet. My husband is livid, they should have automatically cancelled the credit card payment and have not. I am not sure how long it is going to take them to credit his account back, but just the idea of their rude attitude and poor service and failure to credit his card. I wonder if we did not check his card if we would ever get our money back, we still have not received our credit back. The worst service ever,...

Had lunch today with great friends of ours at Panini Kabob Grill-Carlsbad. It was our suggestion, as our friends had never been to any of this restaurant's locations.

It was our very first time dining at the Carlsbad location. We ate in the enclosed front patio area, which was perfect-plenty of light coming in their huge picture windows, tables spread apart very comfortably, and the wait staff was relaxed and friendly.

I ordered a Chicken Kabob Meal, plus I added one Beef Koobideh Kabob, with their amazing tzatziki sauce. Also had their tasty basmati rice, along with an Avacado Romaine Salad. I've had a lot of meals at this chain's other restaurants, but the food from Panini Kabob Grill in Carlsbad may have outdone them all.

Chicken Kabob was masterfully cooked, with perhaps the most tender, juicy & flavorful chicken I've ever had- that good! Veggies, including bell peppers, tomatoes and onions were also perfectly cooked.

Beef Koobideh was superb, as well. So tender and juicy, and pushed over-the-top by a dunking in their tzatziki sauce. Saffron Basmati rice never disappoints, and the salad I ended up taking home, minus a bite or two of the large avocado slices resting on top.

It was a divine lunch and quite certainly couldn't have tasted any better. My wife loved her Chicken Kabob Plate, as did one of my friends. Our other friend loved her Salmon Wrap! 4 for 4 satisfied...

I want to like this place and do like the food but the staff and restaurant ambiance are what makes me give this place 2 stars. We had ordered takeout a few times during the pandemic non dining in period and enjoyed either food. Each time I picked up their staff was not very friendly and seemed stressed. Last week we (Me, My husband, and three young boys) decided to go eat at the restaurant since everything is open again. I went in know what we would order so that we wouldn’t have to keep our kids waiting long. We told the server what we wanted and he informed us that the items we wanted to order were takeout only? (I’ve looked on their website since and no where does it say the KA boxes are takeout only). We didn’t have a menu in front of us but we asked if we could still order those items and eat them at the restaurant and he said we could but needed to order up front. So my husband did. When we got our food and started serving it to all my very hungry boys a women approached us aggressively and told us we couldn’t eat there. That those items were for take out only and they get a lot of complaints??? I explained what had happened and she challenged me and was rude. Long story short the staff here is not very friendly.
