This is a great place to hang out and have some fun! They have a variety of water features for kids and adults of all ages, as well as shelters you can rent by the hour if you like. Usually there's a guy set up selling snow cones. There is a family locker room with several large bathroom/shower areas where you can get your kids changed. My kids absolutely LOVE getting wet all summer, so at $15 entry fee we were money ahead to buy the family pass and come as much as we want! Knocking one star off because I was here with my daughters and I didn’t appreciate having to hear music with lyrics “I’ll be your naughty girl/I’m feeling sexy want to hear you say my name/gonna turn this party out and make some money”. I’ll change my rating if the trashy music goes away. Aside from that this was a perfect experience! EDIT: well our first few visits were pretty good, but our final visit left a very bad taste in my mouth. I had completely forgotten about it until I started looking for indoor gyms with a pool for this winter. when I originally bought a family pass, I was told that we could change in the family locker room and then exit from the east side of the building into the waterpark as long as we went up to the front gate to scan ourselves in. being that I have two daughters (one who is special needs and prone to self injurious behaviors when she is confused) this was important, because she gets confused if we ever have to backtrack a location. The last time we went there, a young man at the front desk stopped us before we got to the locker room to tell us we could not enter the waterpark that way. I tried to tell him that I have a consideration for a special needs child, but he did not care. He then took it upon himself to go to the doors that connect the waterpark to the indoor pool area and block our entry and told us to walk around the building. This was not only frustrating for me because of what he had been told before, but I then had to manage my daughter to keep her from biting herself when she became confused as to why we're leaving a building we just entered. If the concern is that you need to maintain a count I get that, so why not just put a member badge scanner at the door from the indoor pool area to the waterpark? I would imagine this would be relatively painless since the indoor area is only for members, so a scanner at that door would help you keep your counts and secure the building so that non-members could not enter. I tried to get some clarification at the front desk from a different employee but he kept trying to talk over me when I was explaining the situation. I even wrote the management about this issue and nobody ever wrote me back, so it feels like the members there aren't valued much anyway, and to reiterate I was told that when I bought my pass that we COULD do this. so I don't know what's going on with the training there, but it seems like given the many maintenance issues with the kids areas and the lack of tubes for the lazy river/waterslide combined with the cost of entry, I think next year I'll be better off getting a YMCA membership and just paying $4/head to go to Plainfield. I would still really like to hear from someone in management about this issue, that is if you even care to reach out. If you made it this far into this review, thanks. You're a champ!

This is a wonderful water park run by Carmel Clay Parks. Municipalities across the country should look at this attraction as a possible amenity for their residents and visitors. We are in Cincinnati but visit every year when in Indy visiting friends. They have something for every age here. A couple neat, large splash grounds for the littles. A dual FlowRider for the adventurous (you have to sign a waiver). The Lazy River is a little small, but there is no shortage of young and old relaxing in an inner tube (you have to be IN an inner tube or the staff will come at you). And a few slides- one dual with a body and tube slide. Tube is on the left when waiting in line, body on the right. The other slide is a short body slide that plunges into a pool shared with a rock climbing wall. My kids really enjoyed this, possibly due to the short line. We never ordered food here, we bring in our own. Alcohol is not allowed, and they do search your stuff. The cabanas are affordable and very helpful on a busy day. They comfortably fit our party of six, come with a fridge and fan, and run around $200. You still have to pay admission in addition to this fee. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, including the lifeguards. We've never had a negative interaction with them. They do have a very aggressive inclement weather policy. If they expect thunderstorms within a 30 mile radius, they will shut down the pool. And by shutdown that means you have to leave the park entirely, and wait for further info, on their Facebook and phone hotline. On the day we visited this year they shut down twice due to rain. No lightning, but quick rain storms. They were not quick to post updates on their socials and phone hotline. After the first delay they reopened after 90 minutes. The second rain delay we just left. Eventually the park just decided to close for the day. It's seems aggressive and somewhat unnecessary, but probably driven by their insurance company I suspect. No refunds or tickets reissued due to the weather, but that's the norm with these venues. Find a day with good weather predicted, book a cabana if available, and you'll have a blast. I wish more municipalities would offer such a great asset to their communities.

UPDATE!! I wanted to update my first review of this waterpark. As my 2nd visit, both my niece’s birthday party, It was Even worse than the first time. This time not only was it too expensive for the uncleanliness we dealt with in our rented Cabana. I got there early and went on back to our Cabana, only to find that it was just horrible. Everything was sticky, and hadn’t been cleaned it looked like, ever. I went to the box offices where we paid $20 a piece to enter and $120 for the Cabana and asked for some cleaning supplies for the cabana we were getting ready to use for a 6yr olds birthday party . I was being a little Passive Aggressive hoping that they would clean it up at least a little bit, but no. They actually handed me a towel and that was it. I said I’m going to need a little bit more cleaning supplies to make it suitable to hang out in. The inside of the mini fridge was just soaked in a brown substance. You could definitely tell that it had not been cleaned since atleast the last party. I took pictures and sent them to my niece so she could get some money back and I went ahead and cleaned it up enough to make do. But ya, I will not be going there anymore. We spend too much money for a nice place to enjoy the sun and water to be reduced to squander down at the creek for $200. Ridiculous I visited The Waterpark yesterday for my niece’s 5th Birthday party and was shocked by the price of admission. $17 per adult, $14 per child. It’s a nice place. A little too crowded for my taste. It reminded me of Holiday World’s water park. Same set up and all the same attractions and Cabanas. That’s another reason I don’t want to come back, to rent a Cabana is $300 for 3 hours! I understand that inflation is happening and that I was in Carmel, but dang, I thought it was waaaaay too much money to be crowded by soo many people. It was just all way too much for me. We will not be going back EVER! 😉
