I made a reservation for my family and I, but knew we had missed the time frame, so we walked in hoping to get a table. I did not mention we had a reservation and asked for a patio table, the server called over a coworker and told her the reservation was here (I had not mentioned it at all, I just asked for a table on the patio), she walked over and berated me for missing the reservation without calling (I had attempted to modify online but there were no slots available as it was Friday) and that they'd allow us a table this time but in the future we need to contact them. I just nodded and said I understood as I was shocked and it was in front of my children, but it was completely uncalled for. The patio was less than half full, and the dining room only had a few tables occupied, which should have been a red flag for 7pm on a Friday. There was no wait or issue getting a table so I'm not sure why she felt like she needed to get hostile about it. If it had been busy, we would have waited or left, there was no need to be argumentative about a walk in. I regret not leaving, but really wanted to try the food so stuck it out. The server was considerate to our children, and was tipped well even though she accidentally spilled water all over our fries refilling our waters (I get it, accidents happen). The food was okay, but there are better restaurants in Carmel for the price. I wasn't going to leave a review and just chalk it up as a lesson learned, except when my spouse walked the kids to the car after our meal because they were getting antsy and the server was nowhere in sight to ask for the check (I stayed at the table waiting to catch her so I could pay) - the same lady that was rude at the beginning when we walked in followed my family out and then walked around the building to walk in the front, and was I guess following them to make sure we weren't dining and dashing?! I don't get it, but it made my kids uncomfortable as they're still young, and will definitely not be returning.
That was the most off-putting experience at a restaurant we've had, and it's unfortunate because their patio was amazing and completely shaded. In hindsight we should have turned around and walked out...
Read moreVisited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is great. Small town pub with great bar fare food. I ordered the chips and salsa, and the housemade salsa is amazing. I also ordered the fish and chips, and the house made tarter sauce was great. I’m a huge fan of good french fries, and these are nice and crispy. We also tried the Trio sour beer and it was delicious and flavorful.
My complaint that pretty much ruined the experience for me was the fact the restaurant has no blinds on their windows. This particular Sunday, it was beautiful and sunny out. However, because it was sunny the sun was beaming inside of the windows and into the restaurant, onto half of our group’s back and into the other half of our group’s eyes. I got extremely hot, took my jacket off, and was sweating the entire meal. I asked our server if we could relocate to another table out of the sun, and was told we were unable to. There was one table open, but the other table was finishing up and getting ready to leave. Instead of our server communicating with the host our request, the host sat another party at that open table so we couldn’t move out of the sun. This made our request seem as though it wasn’t important and was ignored.
Throughout my experience, I was extremely uncomfortable, hot, sweaty, and wanted to just finish my food and leave. I was extremely surprised to see a restaurant not have any blinds, and it doesn’t make since why there aren’t any. This simple addition would have changed my...
Read moreFirst let me start off by saying my boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night around 9pm expecting it to be pretty busy and there were only a few other small groups of people. This made the atmosphere quite enjoyable as it was quieter than expected, but still a bar atmosphere. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as our appetizer which is my go to at any restaurant that serves it. It is my favorite appetizer so I like to try it at multiple places to see who has the best. THEIRS WAS AMAZING. This was one of the freshest tasting spinach dips I have had at a restaurant!!! Plus, they serve it with chips AND toasted pita. Both were tasty. If you enjoy this appetizer you will not regret ordering it here. For my main meal I had the beer cheese burger with fries. Both were delicious!! Especially the fries. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft potato on the inside. I could not stop eating them. The reason I only gave 4 stars was due to the service and my boyfriends burger. Like I said at the beginning, it was not busy at all, but our server took her time coming to take our orders and check on us. We sat there for a bit waiting. The second reason was the fact my boyfriends burger was still pretty raw in the center which was not how he ordered it. The burgers are pretty thick and they just didn't cook it long enough. He ended up taking it home and cooking it himself. Overall, the experience was nice and the food was good. I would recommend stopping here for a nice, chill...
