I had fun here, but only really enjoyed the euro karts. The other karts are pretty outdated and some of them were in pretty rough shape. The super track is interesting and unique, it has camber and elevation changes which is not common for a kart track. There's a steep cambered bowl that you can take flat in the euro karts if you do it right. The track surface is a little bumpy and smooth with pretty poor grip in some corners, but the layout makes it rather fun to drive, especially if you're comfortable drifting a little. Overall I found the super track's layout to be one of the best features this place had, but only really enjoyable in a euro kart.
The turbo track layout looked kinda interesting but also had much slower karts running on it so I didn't try it. The drift track seems like it could be fun in a champ kart but trying to be fast through corners is more fun to me than just doing one very long donut (subjective, not everyone is gonna agree with me on this).
Tickets seemed like a better deal overall, regardless of the staff, kart tracks usually involve waiting around a bit, so purchasing rides makes more sense to me than purchasing time unless it's only measured in actual track time (which it isn't here). Most of the reviews from people who say they didn't get their money's worth seem to come from people who purchased a wrist band and are upset they didn't get to spend a full hour driving. That seems like an unrealistic expectation to me. I didn't have any issues with the staff but like I said, I usually expect to do some waiting around at a kart track.
The main reason this is only a three star review is safety stuff. Some of the slower karts had what looked like improvised restraints made from pieces of several different seatbelts cobbled together, and some of them were obviously underpowered compared to the others of the same type. The way both sides of the front straight of the super track are used for parking and pit lane with nothing separating the parked karts or track workers from the active part of the track seems dangerous to me and made me nervous about pushing on the track's longest straight. The helmets they provide for the euro karts are all lacking visors and not all of them had functioning chin straps.
I never felt completely unsafe while I was there, but the number of karts on the super track at all times and the condition some of them are in made it seem potentially unsafe, particularly if there are less experienced drivers who don't know their limits on the track - something very comon at family fun style...
Read moreI took my son for his 15th birthday last night, and we had an amazingly horrible experience. We got 2 hour wristbands, and tried all of the different tracks. Slick track was fun, no complaints there. Turbo track was also a decent time, wait wasn't too long. Just be aware that tall adults are going to have a hard time getting in/out of the cars, and finding a place for your legs to fit.
The real issue came down to the "Super Track." We noticed there was a decent line. While in line, twice, they stopped letting people race so they could do the Euro Kart races. But only 1 guy was actually there for this, so essentially the whole track was shut down for just him (and the workers who joined in) to race. It took nearly an hour for us to just get through that line. Despite there being tons of cars, they only chose to run like 4-5 cars at a time, which made everything take so long. Once our group gets on the track, my younger Son and I get in a double car to race together.
After the race started, we got 1 lap in, then our car broke down around one of the turn. None of the workers noticed the entire time. In fact they were loading up the race BEHIND us before we were able to get them to notice we were stuck. They tried to start our car, and when it wouldnt start, they told us to just walk back, jump the walls, and exit the track. He offered us free tickets; but as we had a wristband it was the HOUR of our time we wasted that was lost and can never be recovered.
Nobody reached out to us to follow up on the situation. Not one worker or manager really seemed to care. At this point we are basically 2 hours into our 2 hour wristband. You are promised 7 rides at least, and we only had 3. And we are so soured on the experience, we just leave.
I am giving it 2 stars because before the one bad track, everything else was at least reasonable. However the entire place feels rundown and cheap, and you can tell the owners dont want to put any money into the place. It's on its last legs and I will be amazed if it doesnt close within a year or two.
Avoid and go to a different go kart place if possible. The fun track layouts do not offset the rest of the headaches this...
Read moreThere are 6 tracks, not 3 like some people have said. Cars are in good working order. If you are going to just race cars it's good, however if you want to play games, eat or win prizes none of those things exist here. Problems I found while I was there are as follows:
There is no management. This is a problem in lots of places, employees are unsupervised, unmotivated and most look like they don't want to be there. The average employee age is 19 so don't expect much customer service. The games are all broken so nobody except 1st time suckers play them. I was there for 4 hours in the middle of the day and the snack bar was closed the whole time.
Whoever owns this place stopped caring about it a long time ago and it shows. The employees are products of this environment, so any complaints about employees should be complaints about the owner. This place under new management would be better by far. Fix the games, have actual prizes for the ticket machines and maybe less of the same game in different places.
I saw 2 of the same shooting game both were broken. There are 4 of the same coin games and 4 of the same skill cranes. All of the skill cranes are packed too tight to win and one or more don't work at all. There are no out of order signs on any of the broken machines, (not surprised) and in the 4 hours I was there never once did any of our party see any management, maintenance or supervision.
As far as kids getting hurt... It's a race track nit wit that's why you sign a waver before going inside. If you don't want your kids getting crashed into, bumped our bruised take them to "Make me mine" and paint ceramics you fairy.
Last but not least the bebe's kids ratio was out of control, but it's Carson so next to Inglewood is the bebe's kids capitol of the world. So if you have little tolerance for loud, obnoxious, rude and uneducated patents & children go elsewhere. Parking is extensive, mainly due to the lack...
