When me and my bf first walked in, we noticed: A. How small this place was and B. Many people ordering ahead of us already new what they wanted
Pretty intimidating for a first-timer, but the lady serving the food (everything is buffet style) was SO KIND. She walked us through the many items they served and even let us try some. Everything we put in our mouths was so fresh. Many meats cooked in coconut cream, I didn't know squid could be so delicious until she offered me a sample!
We got the corned beef, turkey tails, some type of creamy tuna bake, clams baked in coconut cream, sausages, chop suey and curry.
She noted that the bread was very good and upon tasting it, I immediately bought a loaf for my mom too. We made french toast the next day and it was AMAZING.
Imagine my surprise when the woman who had taken so much of her time making me and my bf feel welcome told me she was the owner. She said she prepares the food and her husband is responsible for the delicious bread and desserts.
It is so rare these days to find people who love what they do and give that love in return to what they put out to their customers. This is one of those places.
If you are looking for a spot in Carson that sells fresh Samoan cuisine and baked goods (and the best bread around period) and does it with top notch customer service, you will find it...
Read moreWe were in Long Beach for a family event and heard that “Poly Grill & Bakery” was the place to visit for some deliciously made Poly food. As soon as we walked into the shop we instantly realized we were home with all the nostalgic smells of Samoan cuisines that were cooked in our own homes growing up. The ladies up front were so sweet and helpful to our party of 7. We spent over $500 and they honored their student ID policy and submitted the discount that brought our total down to $445. We placed an order for a dozen half Moon pineapple pies, that were made to perfection and just like my Momma’s. The beautiful lady, gave us a time and called us as soon as the pies were ready which was right before the time she gave us. We had brunch and the food was perfect for all of our dietary needs (hungry). The options included vegetarian, I don’t eat meat but I was able to enjoy some of the delicious food with my family. The desserts, and all the food were great better than places I’ve had in other states. We sent pictures to family members out of the state and made them jealous. They turned off their notifications! 😂, way to represent the Poly People through your beautiful hospitality and delicious food! Thank you so much Poly Grill & Bakery. You made our trip to Cali more memorable and we’ll be back...
Read moreMy friend and I were visiting from Florida and looking for authentic Polynesian food in LA, and we’re so incredibly grateful we found this place. From the moment we walked in, Miracle greeted us with such warmth and genuine hospitality—she was wonderful, offering recommendations and making us feel like family. The food was truly a 12/10, with perfectly portioned plates full of rich, home-cooked flavor. I had hoped to try the Palusami, but it had sold out by the time we arrived (which says a lot), and everything else we ordered was absolutely fantastic. They even let me sample the Puteni, and let me tell you—it was SO good, easily one of the highlights of the meal. I saved the rest to enjoy before my flight home. Miracle also brought over a freshly made turkey meat sample aswell because I had mentioned that I didn’t like turkey, which was such a thoughtful and kind gesture. I loved it and she changed my mind for sure! This restaurant is so much more than just good food—it’s a warm, welcoming experience created by people who clearly care about what they do. I’m telling all my friends and family about this spot, and I’ll be back in a heartbeat next time I’m in town. Thank you for the unforgettable meal and the amazing experience I got out of...
