Donated a few boxes... someone just dropped off a small adjustable futon sleeper on the sidewalk in front of the donation door building. We wanted to get it, the manager said she needed to price it before we could load it up. We were guessing it might be around $60 and were excited!
It would have been courteous for them to give us a fair price as we were there looking at it as soon as it was dropped off, possibly could have bought off the owners if we bumped into them.
The manager rudely priced it $150 saying it was brand new and she sells other couches like it easily for $100 and didn’t even blink an eye that we waited for it before it was even inside the Goodwill building. I looked around at couch prices and they were between $40-$80... who charges $150 for a futon... this Goodwill does!
We would have loved to have it in our guest bedroom , replacing a blow-up mattress but didn’t like the greedy attitude or thoughtless pricing. We will not be supporting this Goodwill, too bad because it is the closest one to me. Very disappointed and reminded that this is just another business and is profit centered. I love thrifting but this type of business attitude takes the thrill of thrifting right out.
I hope others think twice about going here, there are much better thrift shops that are for community not...
Read moreI’m never donating or shopping at Goodwill again. When we first got in, my daughter and I went to a box full of beanies. I then noticed a black woman employee quickly started “arranging” something beside us, seemingly keeping an eye on us. She might have thought we were going to steal something, which is ironic considering I've always donated so much stuff to this place. I regret donating them 3 full bags of clothes just this week. My daughter approached a bike, and before I could tell her to come with me, the employee gave her an attitude, telling her she wasn't supposed to ride it. There are other employees who are nicer, so I don't know why they have her working there. If you don't like your job, you can just quit. Instead, I'll be donating to Dorcas from now on. The employees at Dorcas are always nice and don't look miserable unlike her. And they never have a problem if my daughter touches a bike. Of course, I wasn't going to let her ride the bike around the whole store. The employees at Thrift2Gift are also super nice. There's a lovely woman who always greets us as we go there often. Goodwill should stop employing miserable people. Don’t...
Read moreFair warning the prices marked on the items may not be the same at checkout. I was trying to buy an item and the cashier argued that one of the items wasn't the price it was marked. One it was barely visible and it took me a good ten minutes to find it. Two It was a bit dirty and parts of it were not pegged in correctly. After giving it a little TLC I got it looking brand new, part of it was still not working but I figured for the price, it was worth it. I shouldn't have to get into an argument over the price of an item when it is clearly marked on the bottom. After having to wait in line while the cashier struggled to check out the family in front of me. I was in no mood to wait for a 'manager' to tell me while having to smell the awful BO coming from the cashier. I wanted to get in and out ASAP but instead she wanted to get into a shouting match over the clearly marked price. Bad experience will not be returning. This store seriously just needs to be...
