Robert V Godbold Park — Attraction in Cary

Compared to some of the other Town of Cary’s parks and tennis courts, this has to be near the bottom of the list. Parking is absolutely terrible - there is not nearly enough parking to handle the facility’s utilization. This likely due to the fact that people are parking here to then walk on the sidewalk to the greenway vs. parking here to use the basketball or tennis courts, playground, or dog park. The tennis courts in particular are in a terrible position as they are against Maynard Road which is incredibly loud to where we almost have to use hand signals to make line calls since you cannot hear over the road noise. Avoid playing on Courts 5 and 6 because if your ball rolls to the fence/wall against Maynard, it will roll out into the street because of a flawed drainage grading design. It is almost embarrassing that the Town of Cary continues to not renovate these courts and yet still schedules USTA league matches here when Cary Tennis Park...

Beware that there are some punks that come to the skate park and pretend to use it while in reality they are breaking into peoples cars. My car was parked across the skate park, went to take my dog to the doggie park, they went in my car opened my wallet and took 3 cards in broad daylight, then went straight to the target down the road in Morrisville and tried to purchase bunch of gift cards with $650 (trying all cards) … police dot didn’t want to help much as the break in happened in Cary but the fraudulent transactions in M/Ville tried to hide behind jurisdiction laws...

Robert V. Godbold Park is better Known for its four well maintained Tennis Courts and nearby located Dog Park. Nothing much to see so far as the park is concerned. It presents multiple parks at one place which includes tennis courts, basketball courts, playground, and green trails. In addition, it is also a home to Cary’s Dog Park, furry friends and Sk8-Cary for bike and skate enthusiasts. Sk8-Cary has good space to sit and enjoy.
