Great park on the west side of town. Everything seemed very well maintained and there are even a couple of large pieces of sculpture, a central fountain, gazebo, a memorial, and plenty of beautiful flower gardens. It was nice to hang out on my lunch period on a sunny day with plenty of shade trees. Shade , much like the shade my ex father in law has been throwing my way since I accidentally left the gas on and blew up his trailer.

Valid park, 10/10 playground and unique facilities, statues are cool too. Ground of playground is EPDM (rubber basically) and everything exposed is plastic and there is a fence around it so your kid is pretty protected here. Huge patches of snow for making a snowman in the winter too

It is always amazing to see huge parks in Urbana-Champaign area and this park is located in right downtown Champaign. Its children's playground is well designed with many safety features such as gated entrance, fence, soft bottom, not sharp edges, and round corners.

Review for manual wheelchair users: Pros: Big, beautiful space Paved paths Near an assisted living facility, so there will be lots of other people there using mobility aids (you won't be the odd one out) Relatively little incline (west end is slightly higher than the east) Lots of interconnected paths so you can stretch out/cut short/alter your path easily an easy wheel between the park and downtown Champaign

Cons: Paths are not wide enough for two wheelchairs side-by-side or to pass one another without someone going in the grass. Considering the number of wheelchair users that use the park, I hope this is on the city's to-do list Most paths aren't level, so be prepared to do a lot of one-armed pushing and having to double around to work both arms if you're exercising UPDATE: The steep paths by Virginia Theater have been leveled and are no...

This is such a nice.park, easy to enjoy...the fountain in the center is terriffic and very calming. The playground is well laid out and there is plenty of green space towalk, run jump in- watched several.children doing just that today ! I was here for a.terriffic annual event, The Taste of Champaign ... artisans selling wares, tons of food vendors-all really good, live music, a children's area with lots going on qnd.things to do and a.community "tow"with different community groups.represented- some doing specific things, others with information and things to help.the folks in this community- a great time was had by all i saw in attendance. You ought to try and be...

This 4-block space has been in my life off and on for the past 2 decades, usually as either a shortcut or one of the closest places to downtown Champaign where one can park for free. Most recently, it has been the go-to spot for Pokemon Go players to fill their item bags and walk for candies safely.

So, it has proven useful to me for ages, and that alone earns it the rating I gave; however, it's also a very pretty park with its fountain at the center, sculptures at the edges, and trees dotting the landscape there. All in all, it's been one of my favorite spots in either town to be, even if it's just to pass through...
