North Carolina Endodontics — Attraction in Chapel Hill

I was referred to North Carolina Endodontics by my regular dentist. He suggested that I see Dr. Iqbal due to the fact that the tooth that needed a root canal had a crown on it. His concern was that if he tried the root canal himself he may damage the crown and that I would then need another procedure done. He said Dr. Iqbal has had good luck with doing root canals through crowns. On my first visit after the consultation as the tech was prepping the area around the tooth my crown flew off. She said that this should not have happened with a permanent crown and apologized for this. I blame the issue of the crown coming off on a previous dentist who did the crown a few years back, not either of the dentists I see here in NC. Despite this happening, Dr. Iqbal and his team did a fantastic job with the root canal. He and his staff made sure I was comfortable at all times, fully numb, and offered me Nitrous Oxide to relax me. They took their time prepping me and doing the actual procedure on both visits and gave me post-procedure directions and suggestions. I even received a call the next day to see how things were going. My second appointment went a bit longer than anticipated, but even with that Dr. Iqbal and staff were patient, apologetic (even though it was due to the missing crown and the fact that my mouth is rather small which makes working in it a bit more difficult), and very professional. Dr. Hoopes was kind enough to fit me in her busy schedule to complete a molar root canal on me. I was in such pain, I am eternally grateful, not just because I was in pain but because I think if it waited longer ,my root, would have surely died, causing a plethora of other issues.

I can't emphasis enough how caring, kind, comforting, professional, detail oriented and thorough, Dr. Hoopes and her assistant, George, were! They really listened to my issues, documented them, reiterated them, to make sure they were accurate, they were so thorough in their testing- making sure they were absolutely sure of the issue and what tooth it was. George was a comfort angel, all throughout the process. Both explained every step taken and making sure I was "ok ",with each one. The procedure didn't take as long as I thought it was going to and most importantly, I was completely pain free the entire time!! Got to love that !! I don't wish a root canal on anyone but if you happen to have one, I recommend Dr. Hoopes and George , emphatically!!! I just can't say enough praise for this group. Thank you so much Dr....

I highly recommend NC Endodontics for root canal treatment. I was referred to NC Endodontics by my dentist. It was in-network with my insurance but it was 30-35 min away from my home. Anyways, I went for an evaluation for tooth#30. After evaluation, they (as expected) suggested root canal in two sittings. Everything was transparent: the timelines, the costs with and without insurance. I really liked the ambience of the facility and the knowledge/caring of the staff. They are very friendly, prompt, relaxed and confident which we all want to see. Dr. Iqbal did a great job with the entire root canal procedure making sure I am comfortable. Now I don't feel any pain at all. It feels wonderful. Nurse Ms. Gabby took care of all preparations and explained the procedure in detail. She also answered all the questions I had.
