Gene Strowd Rose Garden Park — Attraction in Chapel Hill

This is a great free public rose garden. I know and work with the guy who tends it and he's one of the best rose growers in the area. They have a good collection of all the classic roses and some of the older and harder to find varieties. They even have a bed for minis, something you don't often see. It's not too big so you can see and enjoy it all within an hour or two but it really is a beautiful little public gem tucked away in chapel hill. This is a hidden gem in Chapel Hill, plenty of parking, a nice rose garden and a 2.5 mile greenway. We enjoy taking our bikes to ride and then have a picnic lunch. Can be crowded at times, but never a problem.

I wish I had more stars to give! It was such a large variety of roses, each plant groomed perfectly and the fragrance was overwhelming. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around and seeing such variety the beautiful roses.
