To fully appreciate the superiority of the NeoGenix stem cell and regenerative therapy, it must be compared to other clinics offering regenerative cell treatment. I have the experience to make such an accurate comparison and feel obligated to share it to ensure that others seeking regenerative treatment are not disappointed. As with most people seeking regenerative cell treatment, my joint pain (shoulder related) reached the point where it negatively impacted my quality of life. I developed severe arthritis (bone on bone condition) through decades of overzealous weightlifting. Over ten years ago, I was desperate enough to undergo orthoscopic surgery to ‘clean up’ (remove torn cartilage and bone spurs) in my left shoulder. The results were a prolonged recovery, limited pain relief and a strong aversion to surgery. Two years ago, I, again, was forced to admit that my quality of life was suffering. I was intrigued by advertisements for regenerative cell treatment which ‘promised’ pain relief without surgery. I took advantage of the free consultation, ignored several ‘red flags’, paid for and began treatment that day. The red flags included a lack of imaging (x-ray or MRI) necessary to properly evaluate the joint condition, no evidence that a board-certified MD was providing oversight and the exact nature of the regenerative cell injection was unclear although I do recall that the term amniotic fluid was used. I was also a little surprised that the injection was performed with tactile guidance alone, without the use of any imaging device (x-ray, fluoroscope). About a year after my initial regenerative cell treatment it was evident that there was (and would be) NO improvement. Reluctantly, I consulted with my orthopedic MD, had X-rays and an MRI performed on my left shoulder (the more painful side) and was referred to an orthopedic surgeon. It is important to note that the X-ray showed complete bone on bone condition (no gap/cartilage between ball and socket) and a massive bone spur. The joint was CLEARLY beyond repair by any regenerative cell treatment. I could not get the surgery (total shoulder replacement) scheduled until months later but met with the surgeon again prior to the surgery to evaluate the right shoulder. X-rays showed that the condition of the right shoulder was substantially better than the left but surgery must be considered a ‘when’ rather than ‘if” situation. While the surgeon wisely would not make any guarantees, he indicated that I may get up to five years out of the shoulder before surgery was necessary if I was careful (careful not sounding like something that I wanted to be limited to). The surgery went well but recovery was taking much longer than I had (unrealistically) expected. Consequently, my aversion to surgery was returning. Fortunately, about this time, I heard ads for NeoGenix that immediately addressed several of the ‘red flags’ I encountered with the previous clinic. I contacted NeoGenix and scheduled a consultation. The differences in the two practices were immediately obvious, dramatic and without exception in favor of NeoGenix. On the first visit, I met with Dr Altizer (board-certified MD) and he THOROUGHLY evaluated my shoulder (most importantly this included review of x-rays and performance of an ultrasound exam of the soft tissue). The distinction is critical. Dr. Altizer screened my case to establish that the stem cell treatment would be effective. He will not provide treatment if he does not believe he can get results. He confirmed that he would NOT have touched my left shoulder. With his professional confirmation that my right shoulder was a good candidate for treatment we proceeded. At this point, another major distinction of the NeoGenix clinic was revealed. Dr. Altizer and staff understand the regenerative process and use actual stem cells (harvested from your body or outsourced at your discretion). Finally, Dr Altizer guides the injection with fluoroscope imaging to ensure that the active fluid is inserted EXACTLY where...
Read moreI want to thank Dr. Altizer from the bottom of my heart. I went to NeoGenix about 4 or 5 months ago. Prior to going to NeoGenix I had been diagnosed with Degenerative Neck and spine disease. I found Dr. Altizer through my chiropractor who had worked with him in the past... Dr. Altizer is a no-nonsense straight to the point Navy doctor. If he thinks he can help you, he will do his best he can to do so. I have struggled with Chronic pain since I was 19 years old and I'm 55 (36 years). I have had all kinds of surgeries done to my back and neck including the following medical procedures. I have had the following done: a spinal cord stimulator implant, a cervical disc replacement and a bi-level fusion below my disc replacement, Radio Frequency Ablation in my thoracic and lower lumbar areas, I have had multiple Nerve Blocks, Dry Needling performed bi-weekly, Chiropractic care, as well as taking a plethora of medications to deal with chronic neck and back pain to deal with bulging discs, annular disc tears, all in my lower lumbar and cervical areas. This has been several decades of struggling with severe pain that has put me out of work for more than 3 years. Unfortunately this is the backdrop for my condition and which has led me to the point to seek help where a great doctor has helped me become a better man. Dr. Altizer can help you if you can tolerate the pain of the medical procedure being done. These procedures have helped me in ways that I've never been help before and basically has made my lower back feel brand new. I still have pain in my neck after the surgeries and went back today NeoGenix for PRP treatment to help deal with this pain caused by pinched nerves in my neck. Since my lower back has been treated successfully, I think my cervical and upper thoracic areas can be treated successfully as well. I'm not going to sugar goat these procedures. It is an extremely painful process to get the treatments Dr. Altizer gives you... While he is treating me I wanted punch him right in the face... The reason is because the treating process is extremely painful.... There is absolutely no way to sugar coat this fact. But if you've been living in pain like I have for all these years, you'll do anything to get off the drugs and to be able to start enjoying a life again. Thank you Dr. Altizer for helping me feel normal again. It has meant everything to me and my family to feel better about my life now that my pain in my lower back is gone. Praying that God will use the gift what you've done in my lower back to be done with the PRP procedure in my neck to heal these problem areas. Let's keep our fingers crossed. If I was to do this all over again. I would have gone earlier to NeoGenix rather than to have had all the hardware put in my neck and back and still have to suffer with chronic pain where pills can barely reach. Thank you again Dr. Altizer to you and your staff for helping...
Read moreI came to Neogenix and Dr. Altizer eleven months after injuring both of my knees during a search and rescue mission in June 2021. Prior to finding Neogenix, I visited two different orthopedic doctors who both diagnosed me with and treated me for arthritis (recommending stretching exercises and eventually cortisone injections). When the cortisone injections proved ineffective, the second orthopedic doctor finally agreed to do an MRI in January 2022 which revealed numerous soft tissue damage affecting the ACL, MCL, PCL, medial meniscus, and a ruptured Baker's cyst (and that was just my left knee!). The following month I had a partial medial meniscectomy on both knees. While the surgery did help, I still struggled with pain climbing and descending stairs and I didn't regain as much range of motion and mobility as I had hoped for so I started seeking other alternatives. At 52 years old, I just wasn't ready to resign myself to moving around like I was 20 or 30 years older.
My husband and I visited another regenerative therapy center who implied lots of promises for a complete restoration. They pushed a very hard sell and wanted me to begin treatment that same day. I was hesitant, and my husband commented when we left that office that he felt like he had just sat through a timeshare presentation. Our experience at Neogenix was completely different. In fact, when I told Dr. Altizer what my goals were he was quick to honestly say that one of my goals (to be able to sit on the floor with my knees bent under me) was not impossible but highly improbable due to loss of soft tissue from my previous partial minesectomy. He was very forthcoming in what they could help with and just as transparent in what the limitations may be.
Dr. Altizer also strongly urges physical therapy in conjunction with his treatment program, and I am also a believer in the benefits of PT. After just four weeks of starting PT and only seven weeks from my stem cell treatment, my KOS score improved from 50% to 91.4% and flexion in my right knee went from 111 to 139 while flexion in my left knee went from 121 to 138. I am excited to see how much more improvement is realized following my PRP injections today.
If you are on the fence about exploring regenerative treatment, definitely give Neogenix a call. It is truly one of the best investments you can make in yourself, and the entire staff is second to none! I am so thankful for their assistance in helping ro restore my quality of life, and I cannot wait to get back...
