Went for the first time to take my dogs to the dog park and see how they would respond to other dogs. They did fantastic and had a blast. They have two fenced in areas one for big dogs, and one for small dogs...
My small dog wanted to hang with the big dogs so he did... They have tennis balls all around out in the field that you can throw around for your dogs to go retrieve if they so desire. They also have a built-in fountain for the dogs to get a drink of water whenever they need to. The park also has restrooms that I did not use although it's nice that they have them. And they also have a huge section of volleyball pits and another big area set up for people with skateboards or they can do stunts and go up inclines. Definitely will come back again to explore more and see what else they have available and will update...
Read more5 stars if you want to do something: mountain bike riding, skate, play ultimate frisbee, tennis etc. It truly is a wonderful place for teens and adults to move around in.
But a 0-2 stars if you want to just leisurely exist: you will die of heatstroke because there is little shade, you’ll be be ducking balls and frisbees the whole time, all of the space is designated for a specific activity of some sort, and the rest of the space it’s a minefield of doggy chocolate surprises.
edit: i went to the park today with my dog and couldn't relax because i was (very politely) asked to move for frisbee golf. i just wanted some sun at my neighborhood park. i wish there was space for...
Read moreWOW! I just want to say THANK YOU to the city project managers/council who initiated and approved the skate-plaza addition! All the skaters (older and younger) really love it and are looking forward to the possibility of an expansion of this park and the prospect of building additional parks like it in other areas around the city to promote fun, alternative type sports. This is a great idea! It also gives local skaters an option other than riding on uptown streets and allows them to skate safely in a designated area designed for them! A WIN-WIN for area skaters...
