We have just moved into the Charlotte area and have vacation home. We purchased some furniture online and it is miserable and so uncomfortable! So we decided we were going to go furniture shopping today and we just happened to stop in at value city.
A very nice man approached us as we walked in extremely friendly, gave us the complete rundown and allowed us to shop and if we needed him that he was right there if we needed him. So, as we looked and started questioning things to ourselves, he was there to answer our questions.
I’m a very difficult buyer mainly because I struggle making a decisions on a big purchase like this. This man was so patient and understood my struggles. He was able to answer every question we had about any piece of furniture. He looked at pictures of our room to help with our layout, he was so helpful, providing us different options to be able to figure out how to fit this into our home. This man was so patient understanding and helpful I just cannot say enough about David Milligan he is an exceptional sales person and no pressure! I will definitely be returning to make additional purchases from him. Overall an exceptional buying experience and I couldn’t ask for it to go any better!! Well, unfortunately I have to change my review. Being a Verizon customer I get tons of junk phone calls and not living in the area. Didn’t realize that your number was labeled Matthews North Carolina. I’m waiting for the call to get my furniture scheduled and there was a call that came in Saturday but nobody left a message , so therefore I thought it was another one of the junk calls. So now since you didn’t leave a message I have missed the schedule time to get my furniture set up for delivery. Getting very disappointed!!
Great sales team but horrible store support and they DON’T answer the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Get an answering machine, please!

Delivery was great!! Love the system to where you know what time they’re gonna arrive. That is perfect when waiting on a delivery.
Love the furniture this was a wonderful investment. My only dilemma and that’s because I didn’t think about it. I’m not crazy about cords and I wish I’d probably got the manual ones versus the electric recliners. Just my OCD.
I know this is a long post, but overall my experience is top-notch other than the little hiccup where I missed the first call to set up the delivery, but it was rectified in no time at all! Love...

Please note when you go to any VCF they seem to have their wits about them, they are tentative and professional, but once they secure the sale you will realize the issue with this company. Not only was the attendant on the phone anything but professional, they verbally admitted to being short staffed and having system issues. While I can understand no company is perfect, these issues should not be a burden to your customers, and if they are, you should be doing everything to help compensate your customers for your business issues. My pick up date was change, which typically would not be an issue yet the store had never notified me, thus by the time I had aligned everything to pick up my item, including renting a vehicle, they THEN informed me when I reached out to them that the delivery date was changed. What bothers me even more is the specific furniture I had purchased on Feb 22nd specifically said "available now for pickup" yet I had to wait a whole week for it to be delivered, followed by an extension of this delivery date. That is basic false advertisement and there is no other way to portray that tactic, other than highlighting the unethical business practices which comes with it. Please do not be fooled by the 4.7 rating as I was, given my sales rep within the store, David, was very informative, professional, and tentative throughout my entire visit to the store. That is what initially gave me the confidence to purchase such an expensive item from them. As a salesmen myself I am very disappointed with the overall sales tactics used by this company. You have seemingly great sales people working for you, but you have them essentially scamming individuals as you have an abundant amount of issues on the backend which customers clearly cannot see, but they experience this issue in its full effects once you have made a transaction with them. Read moreUPDATE A manager Stephanie reached out and actually listened to my concerns I couldn't believe it. She said come to her store on Sardis not the store were I bought my furniture South blvd. I had doubts about going there, wasting my time. Stephanie was amazing. She helped us pick out a new couch without the restocking fee. It is scheduled for Oct delivery. Will update. Thank you Stephanie for understanding and making this situation so much better and the excellent customer service. I would give a zero if I could. STAY AWAY DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. I bought a 8 piece power leather sectional back in Feb. 2023 with the warranty yada yada, as you recline the chair gets tighter on your fingers pinching them. I was concerned about it catching my or my kids hands. They delivery people documented it and said someone would be in touch to replace it. 3 months later after calling and calling I finally got a tech to come out and said nothing was wrong it. Called several times same thing. No response. I went to store and spoke to the Manager Kiesha in July, and someone will call you back. Worst customer service experience. Finally after a month someone called and had another tech come out in August. They said it's a design defect and it's very tight and someone is going to get hand stuck. Someone will be in touch. Guess what no call. After calling and going to the store 3x they said return couch we will return money minus a restocking fee after they pick up couch. Why should I pay a restocking fee? It's not my fault your couch is defective. Called corporate and didn't even listen to my issue, they said take it or leave it. The worst customer service. Save the headaches go elsewhere.
