Cookout is much different than it was several years ago. I don't know what happened? The menu is more-or-less the same, but the quality of the food has dipped considerably. I cannot say what changed other than the food is on par with McDonalds now, which is sad.
The service through the drive through seems to take priority over the walk in customers. On several occasions I've been passed over for the drive through. A bit aggravating, to be honest.
Speaking of the drive through, many times I get my Styrofoam container in a plastic bag placed upside down. I can't say why that happens only that it does. Additionally, when I order a soda, they frequently overfill the cup causing soda to drip down the side. Rarely do they wipe it off which, in turn, causes a mess in my car. I frequently do not receive any napkins either.
The Cajun seasoning on the fries lack salt and taste bland. Frequently, the fries are undercooked and soggy, which is disgusting. I believe this is because they are trying to wisp people through the drive through as quickly as possible and cutting corners to achieve this.
I have also found that the speaker on the drive through is barely loud enough to hear and sounds convoluted.
I wish the employees would tell certain customers to pull around to the front for their orders when ordering cord dogs because they take 5 minutes to fry. This holds the line up something fierce and becomes very annoying when in a hurry.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash Cookout, I am merely offering some suggestions that would improve the experience for future customers.

Read moreI walked inside because the drive thru line was extremely long. While going inside there was a worker cleaning the window on the door I had to wait until she was done. Once I was inside I ordered 1 shake and that was it. I sat in the booth directly in front of the counter and more people placed orders and received their full meals while I'm still waiting on my one shake. 20 minutes goes by and I go to the counter to get a refund because I'm not waiting any longer for a shake. The manager Shanee did not know how to do the refund so she had a to get another manager named jeff. Jeff comes and processes my refund but never asks if I wanted a new shake for waiting so long. Once I get to my car a look at the refund receipt I realize they didn't even refund the whole amount!!! So I go back in and Jeff says I don't know why that happened and handed me a dollar to make up for the difference. Moral of the story is this particular cookout does not seem to care about their customers and lengthy wait times. I will go to five guys or Arby's for a decent shake from now on since they're both within a half mile of...
