8/11/16 the only day we could go. Went online, had many questions not answered online so I had to call the office. I ordered tickets online, no place to put info for a coupon that I had to save $3, pp to save me $15. They don't say online that you have to get tickets at the gate with a coupon. I reserved a cabana, $59 for 8 hours, needed for my husband. I reserved the cabana online and it said I could have it at 2:00 (5 hrs) I called, they told me "you are going on a camp day, that's why you can't have it till 2:00". I asked if they're going to prorate the price for the 3 hrs I'm not using it, they told me no, they don't do that. Why should I pay for campers to use it?. They should have reimbursed me $22. for 3 hours (the prorated rate). We finally arrived, the kids were excited and couldn't wait to get out of the car. We arrived early because reviews said to get there early to get chairs. Well that doesn't work because the campers had most of the chairs already. So bring your own chairs just in case. We walked past the cabana we reserved. It already had our name on it and wasn't being used. I went to the office and asked, "since no one is using the cabana that we paid for, are we permitted to use it?" The girl behind the counter went into the back room to find out and this is what I overheard from a male when she asked "Mrs. __? That lady keeps calling here". I actually only called 3 times. I could see through the door who said that and later discovered his name was Matt. After this discussion, the girl came out and said that the lounge chairs aren't there/ Someone took them out. I asked if we could use the bench area underneath the cabana and was told yes, they would look for the 2 chairs that were supposed to be there. I told her to tell Matt that before he talks about his customers out loud, he might want to make sure they can't hear him because that is not good customer service and I thought he was pretty darn ignorant. We put our things down, an employee came over and discovered that the cabana next to us had taken 1 of our chairs. You are supposed to only have 2 with red markings, but they had 3. There is also a sign where your name is when reserving a cabana and it says "PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE CHAIR FROM UNDER CABANA - DO NOT SIT UNDER THIS CABANA IF YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER. An employee told us to go ahead and take the chair from the cabana, but we said we were not moving someone else's belongings. She then moved their things and put the chair under our cabana. An employee found the 2nd chair and brought it to us,. Problem is: 1. the people in the other cabana next to us weren't sitting there at the time and therefore, thought we took their chair and later took it back; and 2. they should really mark each chair at the top that says ("CABANA #1), etc, so people know not to take them. When we came out of the water to sit down, we had to take our chair back. The first time, the lady sitting on it was very nice and gave it back. We explained that the employee told us it belonged in our cabana. The next time, our adult daughter came out to sit and the chair was gone. She said "my mom isn't going to be happy when she sees that the chair she paid for is gone again". As she was saying this, my husband and I came walking up, heard this older woman yelling at her, telling her that it's not our chair and that we keep taking it from them. We tried to explain everything, but she just kept yelling and was dropping the "F" bomb like crazy in front of all these kids, told us if we want the chair than we need to get the management. I headed over to do that and before i got there, a gentleman in the cabana on the other side had already gone to get the manager, was explaining what was going on. He told them he'd explained 3 times that they couldn't take the chairs. A manager came out (Marilyn). asked us what happened. We tried to explain, the other lady started yelling so the manager threatened to throw us all out. We didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't have been threatened! Lazy river's too crowded by...
Read moreI had a terrible experience....I had called previously to check what were the rules and regulations before taking an hour long drive with my family To the water park... a young lady answered the phone she told me that they had a 350 capacity and after I asked if they were at capacity she said no they would’ve let her know ahead of time. Okay so we took the chance hoping when we got there it was not at capacity. As soon as we got there we went to go buy our tickets, the person at the ticket booth asked for our ID and if we were county resident...... (this is where it gets interesting lol) we were so confused we said we had called ahead of time and nobody told us about that very important information all they told us was the limit. So the young lady went to get her manager and he says the same thing to us. So now the young man (manager) went to get his general manager, we explained to her (General manager) nobody told us this information when we had called cause if we would’ve known we would not have drove an hour and went else where. She told us to wait outside and that she will call the mayor to see what he said, so we waited very patiently to see what was the verdict..... well 10 min later we see two cop cars approaching us ... we were so confused my husband was confused also cause he is a DC officer... the general manager never called the mayor she called the cops on us..... we were very polite to her and she told us to wait for what?!?!? So she can call the cops???? I never felt so humiliated and discriminated in my life ( my whole family is Hispanic) all she could’ve just said was no sorry we can’t let you in and we would’ve gone our way to go elsewhere . The cops was even confused about the situation cause it did not make no sense why she called the cops... anyways as we were leaving the park to go to our car the cops stopped us and said hey you guys she said it’s okay for you guys to go in ...... what?!?!? After she called the cops on us and humiliated us in front of everyone we obviously turned down the offer...... but never again! I would write the general managers name but I will not stoop down...
Read moreWe went to the waterpark this past Labor Day weekend with friends and we were all disappointed. It was so overcrowded, that even though we arrived 15 minutes before opening, by the time we got thru check in, there were no seats left anywhere. So many people brought their own chairs that people were literally crowded together in any spare inch they could find. It was a safety hazard. Not to mention having so many people meant standing in a long line for everything...we stood in line for food for almost 45 minutes! When there is only one place to buy food, and 10 picnic tables to eat at, having that many people was absurd! They really need to ensure that capacity is kept to a reasonable amount so that people can actually enjoy themselves rather than feel like they are sardines crammed together. Or ensure enough seating for all, as well as offer several places to buy food, so that it's not a huge waste of time waiting in line and praying for a table to eat your food.
The women's bathroom was FILTHY... even my 5 yr old was disgusted! The floor was so wet that at any given moment someone was slipping and almost falling...total safety hazard. 3 toilets were overflowing with urine and toilet paper, which left only 3 useable toilets for again, way too many people. Only 2 of these had toilet paper. We were there all day and that bathroom was never cleaned once...completely unacceptable.
We all tried to enjoy the day as best we could, but at the end of it we all decided that it wasn't worth the moneytof thoseo come back next year and will try another...
