Generous portions, great service, calming atmosphere, would recommend & probably will return in next 6 months. Although I’m a lifelong resident of Chesapeake Beach this was first time dining at Trader’s. My granddaughter & I went for lunch. I had fried fish & chips (tater tots), which was fresh, piping hot, crispy and delicious. There was an oyster aftertaste to the fish batter but since I love oysters I was fine with it. My granddaughter had chicken tender basket with fries & she enjoyed it. I tasted a chicken tender & it was moist, lightly breaded, fresh & hot. It was real breast cutlets not ultra processed chickenish’ tenders that some chain type places serve. She also ordered the fried chicken sandwich, took a bit out of it before eating anything else. She said it tasted funny after one bite. I told our waiter, he said he’d have to inform the manager. When I received our check the chicken sandwich was included. I told waiter I thought it would not be included on the bill. Manager arrived & informed me their policy is they would only adjust charges if there was something wrong with the dish not bc you didn’t like it. I told her that granddaughter said it tasted funny not that she didn’t like it. I mentioned that she liked the tenders & that everything else was great but I didn’t feel I should be charged for a sandwich that she only took one bite & could not eat any more, this was our first visit & didn’t know their policy (not that it would’ve changed the matter). Without any further discussions, no heated exchanges, the manager said she’d adjust the bill this one time. Not only was I satisfied with the outcome but it was an important lesson for my 13 yr old granddaughter. It showed her that you can freely express your dissatisfaction in any situation without being loud, disrespectful, hostile, rude &/or just plain ugly. I applaud everything about our dining experience, will most likely return & also will recommend Trader’s to others.

Sunday, June 2, 2025 8:45 am Terrible experience compounded by poor manager! Local resident have enjoyed Traders but not this am when I took my son to breakfast. I ordered eggs montoya I.e. Eggs benedict with fillet mignon in place of ham, well done fillet. When our orders came my fillet was blood red inside called waitress over showed her and she responded that's definitely not well done and took it back. Mean time my son was 3/4 way thru his breakfast when My order came back so much for eatting breakfast together. Upon cutting my breakfast up the WHITE of the poached eggs poured out this was an uncooked egg!!! I pushed the eggs off to side and tried to eat one of the fillets for a $19.00 breakfast menu I was disgusted called a near by server over ( ours was not nearby) and asked for the manager. The manager came over I explained the issues twice having cooked problems with my order and noting my son was now done his breakfast. The manager ssid she would take it off my bill. Long story short When our server came back with bill and manager in tow the manager said, since you ate one fillet I have to charge you for half your breakfast! I said, I ordered eggs benedict not steak and eggs the waitress corrected me (insult to injury) saying you ordered eggs montoya not eggs benedict! REALLY, like I didn't know that? Then manager decided to tell me that the eggs I was served was what a poached egg looks like. Let me set the record straight I work in a culinary school kitchen font tell me the under cooked, possibly non/samanella carrying egg was done correctly. So as not to belabor this ordeal the photos below are only the eggs wish I had the pics of the fillet to add! To the owner of Traders this manager needs to more training in service and checking on her staff and I would suggest the waitress also needs some training. This was definitely not the Traders experience I expected and the owner needs to look into their quality control as well as training of the employees! For the untrained manager poached eggs should be: Correctly prepared Poached Eggs: Poached eggs should be cooked until the WHITE is set and the yolk is THICKENED but still SLIGHTLY runny. Under cooked poached eggs have a runny, whispy, white! Signed, Unhappy local resident with cooking prep background

On the outside, the place doesn't look like much or too special... on the inside it's a clean, spacious, with a sport like ambiance. We just made use of the restaurant side. The staff was nice & friendly. We sat near the door going to the outside, and it wasn't a bad location. The waitress took a lil bit longer to come around sometimes - especially when we already had our food at the table. Our waters were brought to the table fairly quick, so we ordered our appetizer - "Trader's Angels" which are bacon covered scallops - and they brought some dinner rolls with butter thereafter. The dinner rolls were not bad, for some reason they tasted more like biscuits than anything else & the butter was a lil hard. I ordered a Blueberry Lemonade, and I swear that they went to pick the blueberries for this drink... but it wasn't that bad in flavor; they actually put a good amount of liquor, but I think they forgot the lemonade part. This was the complete order: "Trader's Angels" which are bacon covered scallops, crab stuffed shrimp with Mac & cheese & salad sides, and the ship size t-bone steak with mashed potatoes & gravy & Mac & cheese sides. With that said, the salad came with the main course (which was supposed to come in with the appetizer). As far as the taste of the crab stuffed shrimp was really good, however, they should've spent more time de-boning the crab meat as I kept finding bone in the mix or biting into it & it was annoying. The Mac & cheese had a good cheese amount, however, the taste was bland & you can tell the elbows had overstayed their welcome in the water when being cooked. My husband actually agreed with me on this one... On the other hand, my husband gave rave reviews on the taste of the steak, and the way it was cooked. His mashed potatoes were of good consistency and of good taste & flavor. Other than the things mentioned, it was not a bad time. I personally wouldn't come back to it as for the food that we got, it was a bit on the expensive side & not worth the money.

We have been here so many times . We always come here when celebrating our Anniversary and the service and most importantly the food, never changes. We’re always welcomed by the staff and given A1 service. I didn’t get the girls name but whoever was on the bar today is definitely one of the best bartenders I have come across in my time . Never had to ask for anything and she kept herself calm and collected the whole time we were there , with taking care of her guests as well as the restaurants guests all the while not breaking a sweat. Kudos to her . And kudos to the kitchen my Crab Eggs Benedict is a plate worth traveling an hour + for. We will always make this place our Go To when coming to visit . Thank you to your staff .

One of our top real estate team partners Martina Moutawakkil moved here a few years ago and I came into town to help her with an open house. Stopped at Traders for dinner and was blown away. My server was super sweet and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.
