I am a resident of Calvert and come to this place all the time. It's a small place with gaming, bar and restaurant. I have always had a good time here playing the slots and eating in the restaurant. The employees here are usually pretty friendly and good people. Most of them know me and greet me on arrival. That being said, I was there for dinner on 8/31 with my fiancé and my daughter and her family. We ordered food which took a little time but we patiently waited. When the food came out my fiancé tried her steak salad and noticed it was very salty. I notified the waitress that we had a slight problem and she Immediately said let me get the manager. The manager comes to our table and ask if there was a problem. I told her that my fiancés steak was over seasoned and she ask her again again what was wrong. My fiancé replied that the steak was very salty and she could not eat it. The manager got irritated and told her well since you ate half of it I will take off have of it on the bill. She replied back that she wasn't looking to take anything off the bill she only wanted to let her know that it wasn't good. She also told her that she only ate two pieces of the steak but the manager cut her off and talk to her like a child saying in a rude voice. " I watched this come out of the kitchen myself and you ate half of the steak. I was in shock first that she was talking to her this way, second that she would disrespect a customer in such a way. My bill was over $280 and this entrée was the cheapest thing on the bill. To have the nerve to think we were trying to get over on a $20 Entrée was a complete slap in the face. To top this all off we then found out that this was the owner's daughter that was the manager. I Immediately ask for the check. The server brings me the check and I could see where they took $10 off the bill. Being as proud as I am I added the $10 back on the check paid cash and handed it to the server. I told her to tell the manager that I added the $10 back on and she could shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I have been coming to this place for a very long time but that ended today. This place will never get another nickel of my money. Check your food and report problems immediately! Remember you are the customer and nobody should treat you like a piece of trash when you are spending your own money! Have a...
Read moreSunday, June 2, 2025 8:45 am Terrible experience compounded by poor manager! Local resident have enjoyed Traders but not this am when I took my son to breakfast. I ordered eggs montoya I.e. Eggs benedict with fillet mignon in place of ham, well done fillet. When our orders came my fillet was blood red inside called waitress over showed her and she responded that's definitely not well done and took it back. Mean time my son was 3/4 way thru his breakfast when My order came back so much for eatting breakfast together. Upon cutting my breakfast up the WHITE of the poached eggs poured out this was an uncooked egg!!! I pushed the eggs off to side and tried to eat one of the fillets for a $19.00 breakfast menu I was disgusted called a near by server over ( ours was not nearby) and asked for the manager. The manager came over I explained the issues twice having cooked problems with my order and noting my son was now done his breakfast. The manager ssid she would take it off my bill. Long story short When our server came back with bill and manager in tow the manager said, since you ate one fillet I have to charge you for half your breakfast! I said, I ordered eggs benedict not steak and eggs the waitress corrected me (insult to injury) saying you ordered eggs montoya not eggs benedict! REALLY, like I didn't know that? Then manager decided to tell me that the eggs I was served was what a poached egg looks like. Let me set the record straight I work in a culinary school kitchen font tell me the under cooked, possibly non/samanella carrying egg was done correctly. So as not to belabor this ordeal the photos below are only the eggs wish I had the pics of the fillet to add! To the owner of Traders this manager needs to more training in service and checking on her staff and I would suggest the waitress also needs some training. This was definitely not the Traders experience I expected and the owner needs to look into their quality control as well as training of the employees! For the untrained manager poached eggs should be: Correctly prepared Poached Eggs: Poached eggs should be cooked until the WHITE is set and the yolk is THICKENED but still SLIGHTLY runny. Under cooked poached eggs have a runny, whispy, white!

Read moreOn the outside, the place doesn't look like much or too special... on the inside it's a clean, spacious, with a sport like ambiance. We just made use of the restaurant side. The staff was nice & friendly. We sat near the door going to the outside, and it wasn't a bad location. The waitress took a lil bit longer to come around sometimes - especially when we already had our food at the table. Our waters were brought to the table fairly quick, so we ordered our appetizer - "Trader's Angels" which are bacon covered scallops - and they brought some dinner rolls with butter thereafter.
The dinner rolls were not bad, for some reason they tasted more like biscuits than anything else & the butter was a lil hard. I ordered a Blueberry Lemonade, and I swear that they went to pick the blueberries for this drink... but it wasn't that bad in flavor; they actually put a good amount of liquor, but I think they forgot the lemonade part.
This was the complete order: "Trader's Angels" which are bacon covered scallops, crab stuffed shrimp with Mac & cheese & salad sides, and the ship size t-bone steak with mashed potatoes & gravy & Mac & cheese sides.
With that said, the salad came with the main course (which was supposed to come in with the appetizer). As far as the taste of the crab stuffed shrimp was really good, however, they should've spent more time de-boning the crab meat as I kept finding bone in the mix or biting into it & it was annoying. The Mac & cheese had a good cheese amount, however, the taste was bland & you can tell the elbows had overstayed their welcome in the water when being cooked. My husband actually agreed with me on this one...
On the other hand, my husband gave rave reviews on the taste of the steak, and the way it was cooked. His mashed potatoes were of good consistency and of good taste & flavor.
Other than the things mentioned, it was not a bad time. I personally wouldn't come back to it as for the food that we got, it was a bit on the expensive side & not...
